This week we are excited to share a song by the talented writing team Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham. Here is the brilliant Lauren Kennedy singing 'Don't Say Another Word' at our CEC concert at the Canal Room.

Mr. Blocker replaces William Russo who is now the Managing Director of Cambridge's American Repertory Theater. Fred Walker currently serves as NYTW's Interim Managing Director.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced the casting of MARLO THOMAS, award-winning actress of stage and screen, in the world premiere production of Clever Little Lies, by Tony Award-winner JOE DiPIETRO (rescheduled from the 2012-13 season). Mr. Saint will helm the production, slated to take the stage in New Brunswick, November 19 - December 22. The remainder of the cast will be announced at a later date.

After numerous extensions and unprecedented attendance due to word-of-mouth that broke box office records at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, the highly acclaimed show NOTHING TO HIDE will premiere in New York this fall in a limited engagement. Two of the world's most gifted sleight-of-hand artists, Derek DelGaudio (2011 & 2012 Close-up Magician of the Year) and Helder Guimarães (2011 & 2012 Parlor Magician of the Year) star in this uniquely unconventional magic show, directed by Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris. Through a series of diverse and engaging vignettes, NOTHING TO HIDEleads the audience on an amazing and memorable journey into a world of pure astonishment.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three free staged readings of 'Cookin'!', a new musical by Debra Barsha and Hollye Levin, with musical director Gillian Berkowitz, directed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett. The readings will take place tonight, September 25 @ 6pm and Thursday, September 26 at 1:00pm and 5pm, at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street.

Jeremy Greenbaum (The Fantasticks) and Aaron Komo complete the cast of Prospect Theater Company's upcoming world premiere production of TAMAR OF THE RIVER, a new music theater work with music and book by Marisa Michelson, book and lyrics by Joshua H. Cohen and direction by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell). Previously announced cast members include Margo Seibert (set to make her Broadway debut as 'Adrian' in ROCKY on Broadway in Spring 2014) as Tamar, with Ako (Throne of Blood), Erik Lochtefeld (February House), Mike Longo (Hair) and Vince B. Meet John Doe, the Jonathan Larson Award-winning musical by Andrew Gerle and Eddie Sugarman, will be released on the Broadway Records label on November 19th, 2013. The award-winning Vital Theatre Company and Hit Entertainment are excited to bring Angelina Ballerina The Musical to the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. A family-friendly favorite delighting New York families since its sold-out initial run in October 2010, this energetic and fun-filled musical will visit Coralville on Sunday, November 10, with performances at 1pm and 4pm. With book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo, music by Ben Morss, and Direction/Choreography by Sam Viverito, the musical is based on the book series by Katherine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig.

It was announced today that West End's Kerry Ellis will not perform in November during the upcoming 20th anniversary concert tour of the smash rock opera RENT, due to maternity leave. Rachel John will perform the iconic role of 'Mimi,' prior to Ellis' return in January.

Mikhail Baryshnikov serves as the Honorary Chairman for Uptown Downtown, a special one-night-only extravaganza to benefit the Abrons Arts Center on October 14. Bringing together the brightest lights of New York City's uptown and downtown performance scenes, the evening will feature Kyle Abraham, Joey Arias, Jack Ferver + James Whiteside, Ellen Greene, Robert La Fosse, Bebe Neuwirth, Philippe Petit, and other special guests. Lance Horne serves as Musical Director.

The American Theatre Wing (William Ivey Long, Chair; Heather Hitchens, Executive Director) announced today that its annual gala, held last night at the Plaza Hotel, was the most successful in the organization's history, raising nearly $700,000 (besting the previous record, which was set in 2012, by approximately $100,000). All proceeds from the evening will benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing, which include SpringboardNYC, the Theatre Intern Group, the National Theatre Company Grants and the Jonathan Larson Grants, and will also support free access for students, aspiring professionals, and the general public to programming on AmericanTheatreWing.org, including the long running television show 'Working in the Theatre.'
