Houston Symphony Announces Schedule of Events for December 2015

HOUSTON (October 29, 2015) – This December, the Houston Symphony will deck the concert hall with the sounds of holiday cheer to celebrate the festive time of year. Now in its 15th season, the annual Houston holiday tradition Very Merry Pops will once again delight audiences big and small with favorite holiday carols and the holiday classic Handel's Messiah also returns with full glorious choruses that tell the story of Christmas through the fine masterpiece. New this year is the live orchestral accompaniment to the film Home Alone to celebrate the movie's 25th anniversary.
Chattanooga Symphony & Opera to Present Free Concert for Veteran's Day, 11/11

October 22, 2015 – Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, in partnership with the City of Chattanooga, will present a free Veteran's Day concert on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00pm at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium. This is the 4th consecutive year that the CSO has presented this family-friendly concert for veterans, their families, and the public. Conducted by CSO Music Director Kayoko Dan, the CSO musicians are joined by the Lee University Singers, directed by Brad Moffett.
CSO's's 2015 HOLIDAY POPS to Feature More Than 300 Performers

The CSO's Holiday Pops, an annual tradition in Columbus since 1983, was conceived by chorus master and conductor Ronald Jenkins who has also led all of its 96 performances. In 2015, Jenkins, the musicians of the Columbus Symphony, and vocalists of the Columbus Symphony Chorus, will be joined by the Columbus Children's Choir, dancers Justin Gibbs and Joanie Evans, children from BalletMet, narrator Steven Crawford, and of course, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, featuring the talents of more than 300 performers in this heartwarming holiday spectacular. The Sunday matinee concert will be the 100th performance of the CSO's Holiday Pops.
