The world's most gifted young music students study with esteemed members of the Boston Symphony

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra presents “Neighborhood Week,” an entire week of classical orchestral and chamber music in some of Pittsburgh's most beloved locales. Beginning on Monday, August 31, the Pittsburgh Symphony will be bringing music to the community with different events each day through Friday, September 4. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Chief Conductor and Artistic Director David Robertson are today proud to announce the 2016 season, offering something for every concert-goer -- from the seasoned music-lover to those just beginning their orchestral journey.

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the global leader in music rights management, will continue to celebrate and nurture the art of conducting at the organization's annual six-day conducting workshop series taught by BMI Classic Contribution Award winner, conductor and composer Lucas Richman.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform an American Salute at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park on Sunday, September 27, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ASO Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Orchestra in a program of American classics, including selections from Bernstein's West Side Story and Candide, Gershwin's An American in Paris, John Williams' Star Wars, and other American musical selections.

An accurate recreation of a Civil War episode, hundreds of extras, dangerous stunt sequences, and a real locomotive falling from a burning bridge into a gorge far below - the most expensive shot of the entire silent film era - and it all can be seen in "The General" on Sunday, August 9 at 8:30pm, co-sponsored by East Lynne Theater Company and The Cape May Film Society. 

This gala opening night performance, hosted by Natalie Portman and featuring Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, airs on THIRTEEN's Great Performances, tonight, July 24 at 9 p.m. on PBS. (Check local listings.)

ZACH Theatre announces that Emmy-winning actress HOLLAND TAYLOR will reprise her role as Ann Richards in her hit Broadway play ANN at ZACH Theatre April 6 - May 15, 2016 in the Topfer Theatre, under the direction of BENJAMIN ENDSLEY KLEIN.

Broadcast Music Inc.® (BMI®), a global leader in music rights management, and Krakower Poling PR will return to Comic-Con, to present “The Character of Music,” a classic Horror Panel, featuring composers Charles Bernstein (Nightmare on Elm Street), Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th), Laura Karpman (Carrie), Richard Band (Re-Animator), Tyler Bates (Dawn of the Dead), Maurizio Guarini of Goblin (Suspiria), along with special guest actor Douglas Tait (Freddy vs. Jason).

Following up on the success of last year's two-part movie concert series, the San Antonio Symphony and the Majestic Theatre announce the 2015-2016 movie concert series focusing on two iconic films from master director Steven Spielberg - E.T.: the Extra Terrestrial on September 11-12 and Raiders of the Lost Ark on February 19-20. In addition to this year's movie series, the San Antonio Symphony announces its POPs rock concert series with Windborne's The Music of Queen on October 23 and The Music of Led Zeppelin on October 24. Amplified by a full rock band and accompanied by two outstanding singers for each program, creator and arranger Brent Havens guest conducts the ensemble as they capture Led Zeppelin's 'sheer blast and power and the legendary sound and music of Queen.' Both series of performances will bring innovative interpretations across art mediums to San Antonio.
