Boxing champ Jack Dempsey is in a pickle; he wants a fight, but crooked promoters, conniving reporters, and shady dames keep him from the fight he wants. He ends up fighting for his championship and pride in a tiny cowtown in Montana in the world premier of the new hard punching comedy by D.W. Gregory, 'Molumby's Million.' The Centre Theater brings this true story to life with all the force of a knockout blow.

First reported by BroadwayWorld back in June when Menier Chocolate Factory Theatre's David Babani told the U.K. Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye that plans are in progress to produce Stephen Sondheim & John Weidman's ROAD SHOW at the venue. He's now confirmed the news to Variety and included the news that it'll play the theatre next summer.

Tony Award winner and Broadway legend Betty Buckley (Sunset Boulevard, Cats on Broadway) takes on the beloved character of Anna Madrigal, and Tony Award-nominated actor Stephen Bogardus (Love! Valour! Compassion!, Man of La Mancha, and Falsettos on Broadway) plays Edgar Halcyon, Mrs. Madrigal's love interest. Up-and-coming performer Betsy Wolfe (Everyday Rapture, Into the Woods on Broadway) plays Mary Ann Singleton, the naïve Midwestern transplant to San Francisco at the center of the story. A.C.T. core acting company member and Tony Award-nominated actor Manoel Felciano (Sweeney Todd on Broadway; Rock 'n' Roll, and John Doyle's The Caucasian Chalk Circle at A.C.T.) portrays Norman Neal Williams, joined by two graduates of A.C.T.'s acclaimed Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Jack Viertel, Artistic Director of New York City Center's Encores! series, today announced directors for the 2010-11 Encores! season: Kathleen Marshall will direct and choreograph the season opener, Bells Are Ringing, with music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, opening on November 18, 2010. Gary Griffin will direct Lost in the Stars, with music by Kurt Weill and book and lyrics by Maxwell Anderson, opening on February 3, 2011. John Doyle will direct Where's Charley, based on Brandon Thomas' Charley's Aunt, with book by George Abbott and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, opening on March 17, 2011. Music Director Rob Berman will conduct all three musicals.

As BroadwayWorld has reported, this week is Broadway Week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! Each night, a different Broadway musical is visiting Fallon's studio to give a sample of their show. Two-time Tony Award-winner Patti LuPone will appear at Barnes & Noble on Thursday, September 16 at 7:30PM to promote 'Patti LuPone: A Memoir.' Playwright Ntozake Shange will appear on September 30 at 7:30PM to promote her new work, 'Ntozake Shange: Some Sing, Some Cry.'

Last night, in celebration of the release of her eponymous new memoir today, September 15, Patti LuPone celebrated with an exclusive book party at Lincoln Center with dozens of her famous friends. ADAM HELLER has joined the cast of Second Stage Theatre's production of Arthur Kopit's acclaimed play WINGS. Directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle (Sweeney Todd, Company), WINGS will begin previews at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) on Tuesday, October 5. The production will officially open on Sunday, October 24.
