The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced today that Golden Globe winner and four-time nominee Jeff Bridges will be honored with the 2019 Cecil B. deMille Award at the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Chloë Grace Moretz and Jack O'Connell are set to star in 'Love is a Gun,' according to Variety. The film, directed by Spanish helmer Kiké Maillo, is the Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow story.

On October 25th, Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) and Ma-Yi Theater Company presented an excerpt from Lloyd Suh's new play The Chinese Lady, which begins performances on Theatre Row on November 7 and will play a limited run through November 18, 2018. The Long Beach Playhouse Studio Theatre closes its 2018 season with Stephen Sondheim's musical Assassins. The play opens with an eerie carnival calliope playing Hail to the Chief. Instead of a patriotic welcome for a president it's a carnival shooting gallery that offers a shocking invitation to the assembled crowd. As the barker calls for contestants, eight individuals step forward.

Trustus Theatre opens up their 34th Season on their Main Stage with Silence! The Musical, an unofficial musical parody based on Silence of the Lambs, just in time for Halloween. Silence! The Musical, winner of coveted industry awards such as the New York International Fringe Festival Outstanding Musical Award, will run from Friday, October 5 through Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Casting of Goodspeed Musicals' Cyrano is complete. Film and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian. He joins previously announced Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who will play Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne in this bold new musical.
