Disney Channel has ordered a second season of the high-flying animated series 'Star Wars Resistance' for a fall 2019 premiere. The series follows Kazuda Xiono ('Kaz'), a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. Season one continues on SUNDAY, JAN. 13 (10:00-10:30 p.m. EST/PST), on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. The mid-season one trailer for 'Star Wars Resistance,' featuring a first look at a major villain from 'The Force Awakens,' was released today on the Star Wars YouTube page.

Miranda Otto, Zoë Chao, and Zach Woods have joined the cast of Downhill, according to Deadline. They join previously announced stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell.

This is the second title from John Asher that Freestyle Digital Media has acquired, following 2016's A BOY CALLED PO. On Monday, October 22, The Groundlings will launch a spooky new episode of their hilarious sketch comedy online video series, Groundlings Originals. The Halloween-themed episode titled "Take One" follows mama bear, Tanya Jones, as she does whatever it takes to get her son some candy. The episode was directed by Alex Staggs, written by Kiel Kennedy and Lyric Lewis, and stars Kiel Kennedy, Lyric Lewis, Michael Churven and Patty Guggenheim.

The Groundlings Theatre has announced that Groundlings and SNL alumna, Julia Sweeney's brand new solo show, I, As Well, at The Gary Austin Theatre at The Groundlings School. The show opens on Sunday, September 16th, with six other scheduled performances to follow.

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of animated comedy-adventure series 'Big City Greens,' about a mischievous and optimistic country boy who moves to the big city with his wildly out of place family, ahead of its series debut, MONDAY, JUNE 18 (9:30 a.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel VOD. The series hails from comic book creators and brothers Chris and Shane Houghton ('Harvey Beaks') and influenced by their childhood growing up in the small rural town of St. Johns, Michigan, with many of the locations and characters inspired by their real-life family members and townsfolk.
