Redhouse will close its 2017-18 season with the ever-popular musical La Cage aux Folles, book by Harvey Feirstein, based on the play by Jean Poiret. Performances will take place at Redhouse Arts Center, from May 31 - June 10, 2018. In addition, Redhouse will celebrate its Grand Opening of its new home at 400 S. Salina Street with a special event and ribbon cutting taking place June 1st prior to the opening night show. La Cage aux Folles, based on the same 1973 play which was also the inspiration for the movie "The Birdcage" starring Nathan Lane and Robin Williams, will close the 2017/18 season. This comedic and heartfelt show features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, composer of Broadway hits Hello, Dolly! and Mame.

Se acaba de anunciar que Aaron Tveit y Karen Olivo protagonizaran la version teatral del musical MOULIN ROUGE!, creado para la pantalla por Baz Luhrmann en 2001 y que supuso la revitalizacion del cine musical a principios de la primera decada del siglo XXI. Aunque el cine musical bebe mucho de Broadway, el caso contrario, la puesta sobre las tablas en forma de musical de una pelicula exitosa, es tambien un fenomeno bastante frecuente y que ultimamente esta teniendo distintas representaciones, tanto en Broadway con el reciente estreno de MEAN GIRLS o ANASTASIA y las futuras producciones de PRETTY WOMAN y MOULIN ROUGE! como en España, con una cartelera actual plagada de celuloide y un futuro lleno de estrenos con base cinematografica.

Nostromo Live, productora que esta cosechando grandes exitos con CASI NORMALES, ha puesto a la venta la primera tanda de entradas para LA JAULA DE LAS LOCAS (LA CAGE AUX FOLLES) en Barcelona a partir del proximo 20 de septiembre, donde llegar tras una peque a parada en Gran Canaria en Julio.

La productora Nostromo Live tiene previsto el estreno de su nuevo musical en julio de 2018 en Gran Canaria, para posteriormente hacer temporada en Barcelona.

As a playwright, Fierstein is well-known for the musical Newsies and the current Broadway production of Kinky Boots; Herman is best known as the composer of Hello Dolly and Mame. While La Cage Aux Folles is a multiple Tony-Award winning musical and one of Broadway's all time greatest hits, the story is perhaps best known as the movie The Birdcage, which starred Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.

Birmingham Hippodrome is thrilled to play host to the first ever UK tour of the much-loved musical La Cage Aux Folles starring John Partirdge as 'Albin' and Adrian Zmed as 'Georges'. The show will visit Birmingham Hippodrome from Tue 16 - Sat 20 May as part of a nationwide tour.
