Tonight, July 15, Onemoe Music & Palm Beach Performing Arts Center will present a 75 minutes VIP Concert performance of LOUIS-AND-ELLA!, by Trent Armand Kendall (award winning writer & star of Picture Incomplete), Music Direction / Arrangements by David Snyder (Mr. Confidential, Plaid Tidings, Forever Plaid) and Direction /Choreography by Jeff Whiting (Associate/Resident Director for Bullets Over Broadway, Big Fish and Tony Nominated The Scottsboro Boys). The VIP concert will take place at The Cutting Room (44 E 32nd Street) doors open at 5PM and the presentation begin promptly at 5:30PM.

A musical at Fringe succeeds!

On the heels of her exciting recent performances at Brooklyn's Shape Shifter Lab and Manhattan's Metropolitan Room, powerhouse vocalist Sari Schorr will next appear at The Cutting Room (44 E. 32nd Street, NYC) on Thursday, July 31 at 7 pm. Supporting Schorr will be her all-star band The Engine Room, featuring Rob Paparozzi on harmonica and vocals, Pete Levin on keyboards, Jerry Marotta on drums, John Cariddi on guitar, and Sue Williams on bass. With a distinctive sound and a 5-octave range that draws from her roots in blues, rock and jazz, Schorr will debut a selection of explosive songs from her upcoming CD. The Cutting Room show will also feature drumming and recording legend Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie, who with his indelible sound will revisit some classic moments in funk drumming history, while also offering up some fat new grooves on songs written by Schorr.

The Shapiro Sisters announced today that their debut album Live Out Loud: Live at 54 BELOW will be released on September 9th, 2014. The Shapiro Sisters, 11-year old Milly Shapiro (Matilda, Original Broadway Cast of Matilda The Musical) and older sister, 14-year-old Abigail Shapiro (Cindy Lou Who, How The Grinch Stole Christmas), recorded the album live at the famed 54 BELOW over a series of three performances this past May and June.

HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL, the critically acclaimed musical stage adaptation of Daniel Waters' iconic 1989 dark comedy film, will play its final performance of its limited engagement at New World Stages on Monday, August 4, 2014 after 17 previews and 145 regular performances.

She first wowed Pasadena, CA crowds in 2013 with the Janis Joplin role, marking The Playhouse's highest-grossing production in its history.

New Musicals Inc. announces the line-up of panelists for the fifth biennial BIZ OF THE MUSICAL THEATRE BIZ CONFERENCE, set for July 18-20 in North Hollywood.

Stanford Live will launch its first summer season on July 20 with an afternoon of Mexican American alternative and roots music. The Grammy Award-winning La Santa Cecilia, named "Best Alternative Band of the Year" by L.A. Weekly, and Bay Area favorites Los Cenzontles ("The Mockingbirds") will take the Bing Concert Hall stage starting at 3:00 p.m.

The Pasadena Playhouse presents SUMMER AT THE PLAYHOUSE - Music, Mayhem and Madness, three exciting productions playing this July. A Judy Garland Concert with Joey Luft features Judy Garland's son Joey Luft making a rare public appearance (July 10-13) followed by PLAYHOUSE ROCKS! with Tony Nominee Powerhouse MARY BRIDGET DAVIES, a Tony Award nominee for A Night With Janis Joplin which was presented last season at The Pasadena Playhouse and was the venue's highest grossing show in its history (July 17-20). The month will end with Henson Alternative's PUPPET UP! - UNCENSORED created by award-winning director, producer, and writer Brian Henson and actor and improvisational guru Patrick Bristow with The Jim Henson Company's renowned puppeteers (July 24-26). The Playhouse continues its tradition of distinctive and entertaining summer programming.

The 2014 Marin County Fair, themed The Happiest Fair On Earth, will be the place to be over July 4th weekend with more family fun than ever before! The fair, which attracts more than 120,000 attendees over its five day run, takes place at the Marin County Fairgrounds in San Rafael, Wednesday, July 2 through Sunday, July 6. Hours are 11am to 11pm daily with headline concerts each day featuring some of Marin County's beloved locals - Huey Lewis and the News, Night Ranger, and Elvin Bishop (full schedule below.) The Fair is a one-price gate. Admission includes concerts, exhibits, entertainment, nightly fireworks and 28 free carnival rides! "Cello goddess" (The New Yorker) Maya Beiser releases her next album Uncovered on August 26, 2014 on the Innova label, followed by aUS tour in September 2014 to cities including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more (tour schedule to be announced in early July). Uncovered is an album of startling classic rock tunes, re-imagined and re-contextualized, in stunningly moving performances by Maya Beiser. A cover tune can be an homage to the original, but these "uncovers," in new arrangements by Evan Ziporyn, attempt to do more - to evoke the unprecedented power of the music of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Janis Joplin, Howlin' Wolf, King Crimson, Muddy Waters, and AC/DC as musical masterpieces and as totems of our collective consciousness.
