Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the summer engagement of American Blues Theater's Hank Williams: Lost Highway, by Randal Myler and Mark Harelik, directed by Damon Kiely, music director Malcolm Ruhl and starring Matthew Brumlow as "Hank Williams," July 25 - August 31 at the Greenhouse Theater Center's Downstage Mainstage Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Pink Previews, where tickets sales benefit the Lynn Sage Foundation for breast cancer research, are Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. Opening night is Friday August 1 at 7 p.m.

Town Hall's Broadway by the Year Series tonight, June 23 at 8pm, THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1990-2014 has added to its cast Aladdin star Adam Jacobs, Tony Award-nominee Chad Kimball (Memphis), Jenn Gambatese (Tarzan, All Shook Up), Cheryl Freeman (Tommy, The Civil War), NaTasha Yvette Williams (A Night with Janis Joplin), Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones), Oliver Award-nominee Kyle Scatliffe (The Scottsboro Boys, currently in LES MISERABLES), Morgan James (Motown The Musical), Lucas Steele (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812), Jeannette I. Bayardelle (Hair), Mindy Wallace (Radio City Christmas Spectacular), Mark Stuart (Mark Stuart Dance Theatre), Drama Desk-nominee Jeremy Morse, Christine Aranda, and Nightlife Award-winner William Blake.

"Shades of Blue" is another first-class invitation for the versatile Bufford to show her many sides. The material -- an odyssey of blues made famous by the likes of Bessie Smith, Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, Dinah Washington, John Legend, and The Animals -- reels from deep in its southern roots to its far-flung northern heights. Shadowing Bufford on this kaleidoscopic journey is her music director Ian Herman on piano.

The Harlequin stage is about to ignite with our own rock'n'rollicking musical adaptation of William Shakespeare'sTwelfth Night, wherein each of Shakespeare's characters bears a striking resemblance to a familiar rock icon. An Elvis-like Duke Orsino carries a burnin' love for the beautiful and Madonna-like Olivia. John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, Johnny Rotten, and Little Richard also become entwined in Shakespeare's most outrageous comedy. Featuring music by Bruce Whitney and lyrics by Scot Whitney, each of the thirty original songs is performed in the style of the rock star represented!

Producers of Heathers: The Musical, the new smash-hit musical stage adaptation of Daniel Waters' iconic 1989 dark comedy film, will host A VERY HEATHERS PROM immediately following the performance tonight, June 18, from 10:30PM-2:00AM at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) in New York City. The Prom celebrates the release of the show's World Premiere Cast Recording on Yellow Sound Label, available now for digital download on iTunes, and in stores as of yesterday, June 17.

First presented in 1945, the prestigious Theatre World Awards, founded by John Willis, the Editor-in-Chief of both Theatre World and its companion volume, Screen World, are the oldest awards given for Outstanding Broadway and Off-Broadway Debut Performances. The Theatre World Awards are presented annually at the end of the theatre season to six actors and six actresses for their significant, reviewable, debut performances in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production. The ceremony is a private, invitation-only event followed by a party to celebrate the new honorees and welcome them to the Theatre World 'family.' In what has become a highly entertaining and often touching tradition, 12 previous winners serve as the presenters, and often relive moments from past ceremonies and share wonderful stories rarely heard at other theatrical awards.
