Two-time Tony and GRAMMY Award winner Patti LuPone returns to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis), as part of the acclaimed Broadway @ The Wallis series, for a one-night-only Valentine's Day event featuring two intimate concerts at 7:30pm and 9:30pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. The Broadway legend will be joined on stage by Broadway @ The Wallis series host and music director Seth Rudetsky who wrote and starred in the Broadway musical Disaster! in a not-to-be-missed night of singing and conversation produced by Mark Cortale. The Broadway @ The Wallis concert is made possible by generous support from Ken and Wendy Ruby.

San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock today announced plans for the 2018 19 Season. The Company's 96th Season will open Friday, September 7 with a gala double-bill performance of Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci in Jos Cura's production with an international cast featuring Lianna Haroutounian, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Roberto Aronica, Marco Berti and Dimitri Platanias, conducted by Daniele Callegari. To usher in the new opera season, San Francisco Opera Guild will produce its signature benefit event, Opera Ball 2018.

Utah Opera's 40th anniversary season continues this month with an all-new production of American composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer's opera adaptation of Melville's classic novel, Moby-Dick. This production, which features new sets and costumes by the Utah Opera Production Studios, uses traditional, theatrical staging designed to be economically viable and practical for a wide range of companies. Utah Opera will give five performances of Moby-Dick at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre on January 20, 22, 24, 26 at 7:30 PM, and January 28 at 2 PM. Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today the exciting cast and artistic team of Brief Encounters, a witty, gripping trio of 15-minute pocket operas about love and marriage to be featured during the 2018 Fort Worth Opera Festival. Part of the company's heralded, alternative venue series, Opera Unbound, Brief Encounters features selections by composer-librettist Mark Adamo (Little Women, Lysistrata), composer Jake Heggie (Moby-Dick, Dead Man Walking), and Fort Worth Opera Artistic Director Joe Illick (Emma, Gunpoint), who also serves as music director and pianist for the performances. Festival audiences will be invited to step onto the battlefield of love and witness three unique tales of desire, doubt, fear, and longing.
