Sideshow Theatre Company is pleased to announce casting for the second production in its 2016/17 season: Calamity West's wry and subversive world premiere GIVE IT ALL BACK, directed by artistic associate Marti Lyons.

Chicago -Pegasus Theatre Chicago announces the world premiere of Rutherford's Travels, the adaptation of Charles Johnson's beloved National Book Award-winning novel, "Middle Passage," November 2 - December 4 at Pegasus's resident home Chicago Dramatists, 773 N. Aberdeen. Rutherford's Travels is co-adapted and directed by Pegasus Theatre Producing Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan and co-adapted by David Barr, III, music directed and composed by Shawn Wallace and choreographed by Nicole Clarke-Springer.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) opens its 2016-17 season with William Shakespeare's King Lear. Associate Artistic Director Dale AJ Rose will direct.  Performances will be held in the Harriet S. Eclipse Theatre Company, the only Midwest theatre company to feature one playwright in one season, continues their 24th anniversary, 2016 Stephen Adly Guirgis season with the Chicago Premiere of The Little Flower of East Orange, with Eclipse ensemble member Steve Scott directing.

Golden Globe award-winning actress and playwright Regina Taylor is this year's recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award at the 14th Annual Texas State Black and Latino Playwrights Conference Sept. 12-18 at Texas State University. A tribute to the native Texan will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.
