La Jolla Playhouse brings back the hilarious The Second City for a return engagement tonight, March 20 - 23, 2013 in The Playhouse's specially-designed cabaret-style performance space in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

Tickets are currently on sale for UP Comedy Club's roster of stand-up, sketch shows, and newly added special engagements including the Chicago Improv Festival's 30 Rock show (April 7), Greg Proops podcast show (April 10), and CHIRP Radio's First Time: First Crime show (April 17). 1812 Productions has announced its 2013-2014 theatre season. The 2013-2014 season will pair three mainstage comedy productions with three limited engagement events, including classic material and several 1812 originals.

La Jolla Playhouse will bring back the hilarious The Second City for a return engagement March 20 - 23, 2013 in the Playhouse's specially-designed cabaret-style performance space in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. Created by the Playhouse's scene shop artisans for the theatre's 2011, 2012 and 2013 Galas, this unique cabaret-style venue features a 1920s 'supper club' atmosphere, with multi-level platforms and custom banquettes. Performances will take place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:00 pm and Saturday at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm.

The musical will be directed by Debbi Katz and choreographed by Danyelle Demchock of the Young Performers Dance Academy. MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE will play a four-week limited engagement at the WorkShop Theater (312 West 36th Street). Though some moments certainly work more than others, West Side Terri is an amusing and enjoyable show carried by a skilled performer.

The 2013 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival continues with a weekend of top notch sketch comedy. The sketch portion of the festival runs Thursday, February 7-Sunday, February 10.
