The Department of Theatre and Dance at Montclair State University presents Tom Stoppard's Tony-Nominated, NY Drama Critics' Circle Award-Winning play Arcadia in the Alexander Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University from November 18-21st. Arcadia, which was also shortlisted for the Royal Institution's award for 'best science book ever written,' investigates relationships between past and present, among people, between emotion and scientific certainty.
The Toxic Avenger to Close January 3, 2010; National Tour Expected Fall 2010

After a successful nine and a half month run, The Toxic Avenger, the critically-acclaimed Off-Broadway musical, will end its New York run, having played over 300 performances at New World Stages on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010, to prepare for its national tour. The Toxic Avenger had its world premiere at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey where it broke box office records before transferring Off-Broadway, beginning previews on March 18, 2009 and officially opening on April 6, 2009.
Shirley Knight to Teach Shakespeare Workshop Nov. 7 at Producer's Club

Shakespeare's Sister Company will present Tony Award-winning actress, SHIRLEY KNIGHT as she works with students on monologues & techniques to use as actors. SHIRLEY KNIGHTS SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP - 'It's Not About the Monologue,' will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 2-5pm at the Producer's Club's Grande Theater. Participants must prepare a Shakespeare verse monologue & each will work with Shirley in front of an audience. Observers are welcome to ask questions at the end of the workshop.

Tony Award and Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Jane Alexander, Robert Cuccioli (GSP's The Seafarer) and Gareth Saxe (Broadway's The Homecoming), will reunite in their roles of Thom Thomas' A Moon to Dance By at the George Street Playhouse from November 17 - December 13. The three previously collaborated on the production at the REP in Pittsburgh.

HOW TO BE A GOOD ITALIAN DAUGHTER, a play written and performed by Antoinette LaVecchia, will begin its recently-announced 8-week extension Off-Broadway on Thursday, October 29 at 7p.m. at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre in Manhattan. The production is now scheduled to play through December 12, 2009.

Move over, Bloomberg; the mayoral race just got a whole lot tighter as Erin Leigh Peck takes on the role of Mayor Babs Belgoody, along with other memorable characters, in The Toxic Avenger, the Outer Critics' Circle 2009 pick for Best New Off-Broadway Musical. Peck will be playing the multiple roles currently played by Nancy Opel, who originated the roles in the world premiere production at George Street Playhouse, while Opel is on vacation. Peck has been understudying all female roles since the show began performances at New York's New World Stages (340 W. 50th St) in March of 2009.

'HOW TO BE A GOOD ITALIAN DAUGHTER (In Spite of Myself)' -- a play written and performed by Antoinette LaVecchia -- has announced that it will extend its Off-Broadway engagement at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Manhattan for eight weeks, running now through December 20, 2009. The play will perform a revised schedule, with new ticket prices during its extension.
