BWW Reviews: Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre's Outrageous CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL
by Chris Gibson - Dec 3, 2014

Back in 1993, CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL was a peculiar foray into low budget film by director Trey Parker that didn't really find its audience. But, after the phenomenal success of South Park people starting renting it on DVD, soon discovering the kind of quirky humor and tuneful songwriting that had become such an integral part of the animated show's success. With everyone in need of a good laugh during the holiday season, Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre has put together a revival of their 2011 production, and it's every bit as funny and welcome as their original staging, in fact, it's on an even grander scale. This is a show I highly recommend, at least if you have the kind of offbeat sense of humor that I do.

BWW Reviews: Morning Star Productions Rocks with Hilarious Production of CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL

Before there was South Park, Team America, Orgazmo, or even The Book of Mormon, Trey Parker completed a film that's become a cult favorite; CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL. This hilarious, low rent production, features all the elements that would crop up in the aforementioned works, combining gore, sophomoric humor and a knack for writing catchy little tunes that stick like glue in your memory. Happily, Morning Star Productions has decided to mount a live production, and it's every bit as funny as the original. This is a must-see event for audience members who have an offbeat sense of taste and humor.

The Greenhouse Theatre Presents a Reading of Miller's AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, Aug. 7
by BWW News Desk - Aug 7, 2010

Arthur Miller's 1950 adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's 1882 play An Enemy of the People explores personal and political issues that resonate in both playwrights' worlds, with a brave central character against corrupt and hypocritical political systems and social intolerance. The themes of this play surface throughout Miller's canon and life, most significantly in his struggles with McCarthyism and the House Un-American Activities Committee.
