The West End production of Motown the Musical, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016, will hold open casting auditions next month for the opportunity to portray the iconic artists of Motown in the musical.

For nearly three vigorous hours, MOTOWN - THE MUSICAL provides one helluva show. More like a CONCERT rather than your typical book musical, this dazzling, high-octane extravaganza of music and dance is a visual and aural feast that gamely crams in more than 60 hits from the groundbreaking record company's discography. The story---penned by Motown founder Berry Gordy himself---may be its lone weak spot, but there's no denying how fun it is to see and hear this impressive cast of quintuple-threats recreate these greatest hits live on stage. The rousingly entertaining, exuberantly-performed stage spectacular continues at Costa Mesa's Segerstrom Center for the Arts through June 28.

Andrew Lloyd Webber revealed that following the upcoming Broadway opening of his new musical SCHOOL OF ROCK, the show will cross the Atlantic for a London run.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that Sierra Boggess, who's worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber previously in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and LOVE NEVER DIES, will officially reunite with the composer this fall in SCHOOL OF ROCK on Broadway, playing the role of 'Rosalie Mullins' the school principal, recently portrayed by Sara Chase in the workshops at The Gramercy Theatre.

Tickets for the Broadway production of School of Rock-The Musical go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, June 11.  School of Rock-The Musical will begin preview performances on Broadway Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6, 2015.

The very first incarnation of 'School of Rock' will be a staged, actually highly staged concert at the Gramercy Theater for just a few performances.' Tickets for the West End production of Motown the Musical, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016, are released for sale today (15 May 2015).  With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright.  London previews will begin on 11 February 2016 with press night on 8 March 2016 with the show booking to 22 October 2016.  Casting and further information about Motown the Musical will be released shortly.

Taye Diggs will return to Broadway this summer in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the 2014 Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival. Diggs will play the title role in the acclaimed musical for a limited 12-week engagement starting Wednesday, July 22 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).
