Due to popular demand BEDLAM is adding three more performances of Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility adapted by Kate Hamill. Sense & Sensibility is currently playing in rep with a production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull adapted by Anya Reiss now through December 21 at the Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street, NYC). The added performances for Sense & Sensibility are Sunday, December 7 at 2pm, Tuesday, December 16 at 8pm, and Sunday, December 21 at 2pm. Davis McCallum, Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF), has finalized plans for the Company's 29th season with the announcement that Arabian Nights, written by Mary Zimmerman, adapted from The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night, will run in repertory with Shakespeare's Winter's Tale, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a limited run of An Illiad, by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare.

Previews begin tonight, Friday, October 31, for Bedlam Theatre company's productions of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull adapted by Anya Reiss and Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility adapted by Kate Hamill. As the 2014 season draws to an end, Davis McCallum, Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) gave friends and fans something to look forward to when he announced the 2015 season at a special Sneak Peak event on Saturday evening. Noting that the pieces that he has chosen share in the deep belief in the magic of storytelling, McCallum announced that the 2015 productions will be The Winter's Tale, A Midsummer Night's Dream, An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Dennis O'Hare, and a fourth, soon to be revealed production. 'Each of these pieces aims to transport the audience with the simplest and most powerful of theatrical means - language, wit, movement, commitment, and passion,' he told the assembled crowd.

Shakespeare & Company's Dennis Krausnick, a founder and also Director of Training, steps into the title role of Julius Caesar for a brief run beginning July 15 through August 2. Nigel Gore, who has been playing Caesar since it opened several weeks ago, takes a short-term leave from the show after this weekend's performance on Sunday July 13-Gore will be back in the role Saturday, August 9. With 7 actors playing multiple roles this poetry-filled psychological and political thriller follows the conspiracy and assassination of the omnipotent Roman leader, and the consequences that ensue from his brutal murder. Performances run in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre today, June 27 - August 30.Press Opening is Friday, July 4 at 8:00pm.

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) announces the three plays that will run in repertory during the Company's 28th season: Othello, directed by Associate Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by HVSF newcomer Eric Tucker, and David Ives' hilarious adaptation of Pierre Corneille's comedy, The Liar, directed by HVSF veteran Russell Treyz.

Shrunken Shakespeare Company (SSC), in association with Joe Paradise, announced today that Nigerian-born Royal Shakespeare Company associate artist Chukwudi Iwuji (The Public/RSC: Anthony and Cleopatra; London Old Vic/BAM: Richard III with Kevin Spacey) has joined the cast of Paul Sorvino's world premiere adaption of Lear as part of their 2014 Fundraiser Gala, including Broadway, Off-Broadway and TV veterans.
