On Thursday, June 10, the AFI honored Mike Nichols with their Life Achievement Award at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Nichols, who directed Broadway's Tony-winning Spamalot, among others, is one of only twelve people to have won an EGOT, all the major American entertainment awards: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. In 2001, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts.

The 60th Anniversary Music Circus season opens with 'Spamalot,' the 2005 Tony Award-winning musical, as the first show in the 2010 60th Anniversary season. Playing for an extended run at the Wells Fargo Pavilion July 9 -18, the production features a stellar cast that includes Broadway veteran Gary Beach, who will be playing the lead role of King Arthur.

Monty Python's Spamalot, the musical pardody based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is to begin its tour of the UK at New Wimbledon Theatre in southwets London. Performances are set to run from May 29th through June 5th. Additional tour dates and locations have yet to be released.
