Chester Theatre Company (CTC) is proud to present Gem of the Valley, an immersive special event taking place July 18-20. The town of Chester is the focus of the piece which pays homage to the village, and the theatre that has called it home for 30 years. The work is being produced with assistance from Eggtooth Productions, and with support from Art Angels.

Arcola Theatre today announces the 16 productions that make up the 2019 Grimeborn Opera Festival.

City Lit's 40th Season to explore key moments in American history through fact, fiction and fantasy. Productions will include the Chicago premiere of Peter Parnell's ROMANCE LANGUAGE, a revival of Kristine Thatcher's VOICE OF GOOD HOPE, and world premiere adaptations of Robert F. Kennedy's THIRTEEN DAYS and Owen Lister's THE VIRGINIAN

 New Zealand husband and wife indie folk duo Terrible Sons return with 'Hold Fire', the first release from their upcoming EP With Feathers (out July 26 via Nettwerk). The track implores the listener to pause before engaging in caustic debates - a poignant reminder in today's political climate and in personal relationships, alike.

City Lit Theater's twelfth annual THE ART OF ADAPTATION festival will be held on May 31, June 1 and 2 at City Lit Theater at 1020 West Bryn Mawr Avenue. Seven adaptations were selected following a nationwide call for submissions, and each will be awarded a $200.00 prize. A jury of local theater professionals will select a best in show piece and award an additional $300 cash prize to its adapter.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center announced the 2019-20 Bemis Company Education Series tonight to a group of educators at the annual Educator Appreciation Event. Educators were able to preview the 2019-20 education programs, schedule experiences and network with one another as they discussed how the arts integrate into their classroom.

Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh and Interim Managing Director Chris Griffith recently announced that the non-profit theater's 40th anniversary season will include regional premiere of The Lifespan of a Fact from August 30 through September 22.  Gloucester Stage will be the first theater in the country to produce the critically-acclaimed The Lifespan of a Fact since the play's SRO smash hit world premiere Broadway run featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Cherry Jones, and Bobby Cannavale closed in January 2019.

In this solo concert, RESONANCE III, Miki Orihara will be dancing Martha Graham's 'Lamentation (1930)', Doris Humphrey's 'Two Ecstatic Themes (1931)', Seiko Takata's work 'Mother (1938)' Konami Ishii's 'Moon Desert (early 1930's)' and Yuriko's 'Cry (1963)'.

Two River Theater is now presenting the American classic, 'The Belle of Amherst' written by William Luce. The one-person play features the brilliant acting talent of Maureen Silliman as Emily Dickinson. Expertly directed by Robert Rechnitz, it is a beautifully staged biographical drama of the celebrated American poet.

The 36th season of the Verdi Chorus continues with the Walter Fox Singers in Love is Timeless for one night only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on May 4, at 7:30pm.  Led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, the Walter Fox Singers comprise the professional ensemble of the Verdi Chorus, which is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus. This program, devoted to the timeless nature of love in all of its intricacies, will feature best loved arias, duets and emsembles from the world of opera, as well as favorite songs from the canon of mid-century American musical theater

American Drag written and directed by Epic's Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli.  The continuation of Epic's hit 2015 play American Strippers, this time around, Olympus has fallen and the gods are trying to get the band back together for one more shot at controlling the Universe with the help of some iconic drag queens.

To conclude its 23rd season, the George London Foundation Recital Series presents two women who have won George London Awards within the past four years and who are fast making their mark in the opera world. Soprano Julie Adams, a 2015 award winner, and mezzo-soprano Emily D'Angelo, who won her George London Award in 2018, are joined by Ken Noda, piano, at The Morgan Library and Museum on Sunday, May 5, 2019,

For the fifth straight year, Rover Dramawerks is pleased to partner with the playwrights' group 365 Women a Year to present a festival of plays about women, for everyone. This international playwriting coalition, founded by Jess Eisenberg, involves playwrights across the world who have signed on to write one or more plays about extraordinary women in both past and present history. The project's ambitious yet focused goal is to write women back into the social consciousness, as well as empower and promote female playwrights, and plant seeds of herstory around the country.

This Spring marks the start of the 36th season of the Verdi Chorus, who will present their Spring Concert, L'Amore e la Vita (Love and Life) for two performances only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on April 6 and 7. Led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, the Verdi Chorus is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus. This program, which Ketchum humorously calls the Rom-Com of opera, will feature selections from two Verdi operas I vespri siciliani and Ernani, three Donizetti operas - Don Pasquale, La fille du r giment and L'elisir d'amore, as well as operatic sequences from Bizet's Les p cheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers), Delibes' Lakm , and Puccini's La rondine.
