NYC-based new music group Wet Ink Ensemble announces its three new Artists-in-Residence: Obie award-winning theater artist Rick Burkhardt, composer and drummer Vicente Hansen Atria, and saxophonist and composer Ingrid Laubrock.

Vangeline Theater/ New York Butoh Institute announces that Founder and Artistic Director Vangeline is the recipient of a 2022/23 Gibney Dance in Process (DiP) Residency.

The Wet Ink band is joined by innovative improvisers that include bassoonist Katherine Young (also a 2021-22 Artist-In-Residence), vocalist Charmaine Lee, and trombonist Weston Olencki.

The service organization Dance/NYC has announced that videos from its fully digital 2022 Symposium are now available for public dissemination. This year's event, which occurred on Thursday March 17-Saturday March 19, 2022, marked Dance/NYC's second successful all-digital Symposium. Over three days, 500+ people attended the event built around the theme Life Cycles. Livelihoods. Legacies., including dance artists, choreographers, artistic directors, administrators, funders, educators, policymakers, dance writers, scholars, and students.

“Third Thursdays,” the free monthly photography presentation and artist talk series at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) James Kerney Campus Gallery (JKCG) at 137 North Broad Street in Trenton, will take place May 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event, curated by Heather Palecek and Habiyb Shu'Aib, will feature work by Aaron Turner and Wendel White.

New Orleans multi-instrumentalist Leyla McCalla has shared the track “Le Bal est Fini” today via the Sourthern culture magazine Garden & Gun. Featured on her new album ‘Breaking The Thermometer’ which comes out this Friday, “Le Bal est Fini” is French for “The party is over”. Plus, check out upcoming tour dates!

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, announced today that Aaron Mattocks, the organization’s Director of Programming, will step down effective July 15, 2022.

Tickets for the 2022 American Dance Festival (ADF) season are now on sale. Celebrating its 89th season, ADF is welcoming back audiences to its first full season in three years with over 25 dance companies performing both indoors and outdoors.

The American Dance Festival will posthumously award the 2022 Balasaraswati/Joy Anne Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teaching to Dr. Kariamu Welsh. A ceremony honoring her and her contributions to the dance field will take place on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at 3:00 pm in Duke University's Page Auditorium.
