DANCENOW is pleased to announce the lineup for the 2014 DANCENOW Joe's Pub Festival. Featuring works by forty choreographers and their companies, the 2014 festival will be held over four evenings from September 3 to 6, with an encore performance on September 13. Jacob's Pillow Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff brings together some of today's most innovative hip-hop dancemakers for a new, Pillow-exclusive production. Unreal Hip-Hop features the diverse styles of Brooklyn-based crew Decadancetheatre, b-girl Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie, freestyle and pop 'n' lock duo The Wondertwins, plus the musical stylings of DJ Boo. 10 Hairy Legs Announces New York Season, Running 6/26-29

Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, appears at New York Live Arts June 26-28 at 7:30 pm and June 29 at 2:00 pm. Continuing the company's aggressive repertory expansion that explores the range of the male dancer, the four performances feature two programs with works by Julie Bour, David Dorfman and Dan Froot, Doug Elkins, Tiffany Mills, David Parker, Claire Porter and Randy James. Following the record-breaking attendance of Festival 2013, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces the full 2014 Festival free and ticketed event schedule. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts. American Dance Institute Announces Commissioned Artist Program

ROCKVILLE, Md., April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ The American Dance Institute (ADI) today announced Minneapolis-based artist Chris Schlichting as the first artist selected for its new Commissioned Artist program. With the goal of supporting the work of American choreographers as they gain prominence on the national contemporary dance scene, this new program furthers ADI's already strong commitment to advancing artistic excellence and supporting the development of new works. ADI's Commissioned Artist program will provide Schlichting with $10,000 in commissioning funds, fee-free fiscal sponsorship for the commissioned year, strategic marketing and development support, and a presentation of the commissioned work during ADI's 15/16 season. ODC Theater's annual fringe-style festival returns for a third year with samplings of dance from around the nation. Over two days, Friday, May 30 - Saturday, May 31, the Walking Distance Dance Festival-SF will feature three programs of paired artists, a book reading and a site-adaptive performance at Mission Bowling Club. This year's exciting cohort includes artists from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York and Seattle, several of whom will perform premieres -- all within easy walking distance of one another. Festival of Dance will feature New Jersey's top dance companies as well as the leading emerging dance troupes from around the state. Over the course of two evenings, nine dance companies with genres from Irish to modern, ballet to tap, and styles from around the world. The opening night's program will feature the two of the state's leading dance companies, and will include two world premieres from Randy James' all male dance company 10 Hairy Legs as well as a world premiere from The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company. Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, appears at New Jersey Performing Arts Center's Victoria Theater on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 8:00 pm as part of its Jersey Moves! Dance Festival. Continuing the company's aggressive repertory expansion that explores the range of today's male dancer, this program features two World Debuts - a quartet entitled "The Blind Men and the Elephant" by Julie Bour, and a quintet entitled "Trouble Will Find Me" by Doug Elkins.
