Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) has been awarded $71,600 by the New York State Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) to support HVSF's innovative, hands-on arts education and outreach initiatives in 2015. (more...)

Mint Theater today announced the cast for their next production, Fashions For Men by Ferenc Molnar: Mark Bedard, Joe Delafield, Jeremy Lawrence, Rachel Napoleon, Annie Purcell, Kurt Rhoads, Michael Schantz, Maren Searle, John Seidman, Jill Tanner, John Tufts, and Gabra Zackman. Davis McCallum, Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF), has finalized plans for the Company's 29th season with the announcement that Arabian Nights, written by Mary Zimmerman, adapted from The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night, will run in repertory with Shakespeare's Winter's Tale, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a limited run of An Illiad, by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare. Playwrights Horizons announced today that their New York premiere production of the acclaimed new play Bootycandy, written and directed by Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara, would extend an additional week. The production is the season opener of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season. After opening on Wednesday, September 10, the limited engagement -- originally scheduled to play through Sunday, October 12 -- will now play through Sunday, October 19 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).
