ABC News presents special coverage of the 2020 presidential election Iowa Caucus on Monday, Feb. 3, and New Hampshire Primary on Tuesday, Feb. 11, on ABC. ABC will air special reports in prime time as voting results break, providing insight on the latest developments and the impact on the election and candidates. Coverage will feature ABC News' powerhouse political team chief anchor George Stephanopoulos, “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir, chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl, senior White House correspondent Cecilia Vega, senior congressional correspondent Mary Bruce, senior national correspondent Terry Moran, FiveThirtyEight editor-in-chief Nate Silver, special correspondent Matthew Dowd and contributors Chris Christie, Rahm Emanuel and Yvette Simpson.

ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the evening's No. 1 newscast for the 6th week in a row in all key target demos: Total Viewers (9.101 million), Adults 25-54 (1.745 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.187 million) for the week of Jan. 20, 2020, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (7.907 million, 1.654 million and 1.162 million, respectively) by 1.194 million Total Viewers, 91,000 Adults 25-54 and 25,000 Adults 18-49.  In fact, “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” head-to-head on each of the five nights of the week by more than 1.0 million viewers for the first time in nearly 24 years – since w/o 4/15/96, based on regular telecasts. “World News Tonight” has led “NBC Nightly News” by more than 1.1 million viewers for the past three weeks.

ABC News Live, America's No. 1 streaming news channel, is kicking off a bold strategy for new, original programming in 2020. By year's end, ABC News Live will air 18 hours of live and original content daily across all dayparts. The streaming channel's robust schedule will include a mix of live, anchored news programs in prime time, morning and daytime, breaking news coverage and all-new original documentaries. To kick off the first wave of new programming, ABC News has expanded the roles of correspondent Linsey Davis and chief national affairs correspondent and “World News Tonight” Weekend anchor Tom Llamas to anchor two prime-time hours streaming each weeknight and breaking news and live special event coverage, respectively. Both will continue in their broadcast roles, reporting from the field and delivering exclusive news-making interviews for all ABC News programs.

ABC News today announced chief anchor George Stephanopoulos, “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir and ABC News correspondent Linsey Davis will moderate The Democratic Debate in New Hampshire on Friday, Feb. 7 (8:00 to 11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. They will be joined by WMUR-TV political director Adam Sexton and WMUR-TV news anchor Monica Hernandez who will also ask questions on the minds of voters. 

ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 evening newscast for the 5th consecutive week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (9.277 million), Adults 25-54 (1.865 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.256 million) for the week of Jan. 13, 2020, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” (8.084 million, 1.655 million and 1.171 million, respectively) by 1.193 million Total Viewers, 210,000 Adults 25-54 and 85,000 Adults 18-49. In fact, “World News Tonight” turned in its largest overall viewer win over the NBC program in 5 months – since w/o 8/12/19. “World News Tonight” also increased its Total Viewer advantage year to year (+26%; vs. 945,000), winning all 17 weeks of the season and the last 60 weeks overall.

After Christopher Smith abruptly vanished from Southern California, email messages supposedly from him continued to land in the inboxes of his friends and family for months afterward, assuring them he was safe and traveling the world. Although initially believable, the e-mails gradually became stranger and stranger, alarming those close to him.

The two-hour program details the series of events that quickly connected the dots for authorities, allowing them to make several arrests; charges against Pamela, including being an accomplice to first-degree murder, and against others; her trial, the first murder trial in U.S. history to be broadcast on television gavel-to-gavel; and her sentence of life in prison without parole. Even as she approaches three decades in prison, Pamela continues to maintain her innocence.

ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 evening newscast for the 3rd consecutive week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (8.810 million), Adults 25-54 (1.770 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.256 million) for the week of Dec. 30, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (8.174 million, 1.657 million and 1.174 million, respectively) by 636,000 Total Viewers, 113,000 Adults 25-54 and 82,000 Adults 18-49.

'The Year: 2019' showcases another monumental year filled with celebrity romance, star drama, politics, breakout stars and the obsessions everyone couldn't get enough of. The two-hour special, anchored by Robin Roberts airs SUNDAY, DEC. 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. Robin is joined by colleagues George Stephanopoulos, David Muir, Michael Strahan, Keke Palmer, Sara Haines, Amy Robach, Lara Spencer, Juju Chang, Mary Bruce and Byron Pitts.
