Profiles Theatre opens its 21st Anniversary Season with the Midwest premiere of the drama The Mercy Seat by Neil LaBute, directed by Artistic Director Joe Jahraus. The production runs September 25- November 15, 2009, at Profiles Theatre, 4147 N. Broadway. The press opening is Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 8:00 p.m.

Cutthroat competition reaches new heights in Glengarry Glen Ross, David Mamet's Pulitzer prize-winning play presented by Deep Dish Theater Company October 23 to November 14. This modern classic, directed by Deep Dish Artistic Director Paul Frellick, will continue the company's ninth season at University Mall.

RACE begins previews on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 8:00 pm at The Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th St.). The official opening night is Sunday, December 6, 2009.

Evans, continues its 35th Season with Souvenir, Stephen Temperley's true musical story of 'The Tone-deaf Diva' Florence Foster Jenkins. The production, directed by Steve Scott, runs November 12- December 20, 2009 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie.

Historically, English adaptations of Aeschylus' 'Agamemnon' have rendered its ancient Greek poetry into proven English poetic forms. The results have been often good and occasionally brilliant. Yet the original Greek meters provide clues as to how a section of a play was performed (sung, spoken or spoken to musical accompaniment). This has prompted Alexander Harrington, a director known for his mastery of oratorical theater, to attempt something radical: approximating Aeschylus' actual, original poetic meters in a new translation. This intrepid idea has resulted in a script of surprisingly clear stage speech and unusual poetic quality. It will debut November 12 to 29, 2009 in La MaMa's large Annex Theater, performed by The Eleventh Hour Theatre Company.
