Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that two-time Tony Award-nominee and film actress Kathleen Turner will star in the world premiere of Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel. Directed by award-winning director David Esbjornson, this one-woman play based on the writings of the late political journalist Molly Ivins will take the slot previously slated for Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck. 'Red Hot Patriot' runs through April 18, 2010.

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that Tony Award-winning Walter Bobbie is taking over the direction of Golden Age at The Kennedy Center, running March 12 - April 4. Bobbie, who is currently represented in New York City with the Off-Broadway hit by David Ives Venus in Fur, will replace Austin Pendleton.

Casting has been announced for the Shakespeare Theatre Company's production of THE LIAR. The comedy, originally by Corneille, has been adapted by David Ives and will play the Lansburgh Theatre from April 6, 2010 through May 23, 2010.

The New York Times is reporting that the Classic Stage Company's critically-acclaimed production of VENUS IN FUR, a new play by David Ives and directed by Walter Bobbie, may be headed to the Great White Way. Featuring Nina Arianda and Wes Bentley, the production has received two extension off-Broadway and will now run through Sunday, March 28. VENUS IN FUR has now become the longest-running production in CSC's 42 year history.

WeildWorks' New York Premiere of Fêtes de la Nuit, Charles L. Mee's sexy meditation on lust, beauty and the divine experience of love, will end its run on Saturday, February 27.

The Play That Changed My Life contributing playwrights, including Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife), David Ives (Venus in Fur), Diana Son (Stop Kiss) book editor Ben Hodges and Howard Sherman, Executive Director of the American Theatre Wing were at a book signing at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble Wednesday, February 24th.
