ONCE Musical Headed to Broadway in February?

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that the new musical Once, inspired by Dublin street performers and a stage adaptation of the eponymous film, may make it's Broadway debut in February of 2012. The musical recently received a workshop at the American Repertory Theatre in Boston and will be given a full production at the New York Theatre Workshop in December.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that casting is complete for the world premiere of the new musical Once, which is based on the Academy Award-winning film. Once begins previews Tuesday, November 15 and opens Tuesday, December 6 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET to Perform on IMUS IN THE MORNING, 8/4

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the hit musical now playing at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) will perform live on 'Imus in the Morning' this Thursday, August 4 in the 8 AM hour. 'Imus in the Morning' can be seen on Fox Business News (Time Warner Cable Channel 43). The nationally syndicated radio simulcast can be heard locally on 770 AM WABC. Check local listings for information outside the New York metro area.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET resumed performances yesterday, July 28, at New World Stages after closing on Broadway on June 12, 2011. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET played nearly 500 performances on Broadway and won a Tony Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award, and received Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue and three Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Musical and two Distinguished Performance nominations. The producers of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET are thrilled to announce that original cast members Eddie Clendening (Elvis Presley), Lance Guest (Johnny Cash), and Robert Britton Lyons (Carl Perkins) will be joining the cast of the hit musical when it resumes performances at its new home at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) on Thursday, July 28. They will be joined by MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET alums David Abeles (Jerry Lee Lewis), Victoria Matlock (Dyanne), and James Moye (Sam Phillips).

Levi Kreis Departs MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Early Due to Injury

BroadwayWorld has confirmed with a production source that Million Dollar Quartet star and Tony winner Levi Kreis will depart the production earlier than scheduled due to an injury he sustained on March 3. Kreis wrote on his Twitter page earlier this week: 'If u r planning 2 c my MDQ perf. b4 the 13th, u should know I THINK I tore my ACL surgery out, & could be done. I get MRI results Monday.'
