On Saturday, July 6, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) continues its Jazz Masters music series with the Marshall McDonald Jazz Project featuring McDonald, a 30-year veteran of the New York jazz scene, and his band. Joining McDonald will be James Weidman on piano, Nori Naraoka on bass, and George Coleman Jr. on drums. The band will perform two sets at 7:30 and 9 pm at WCT, 23 Water Street in Ossining.

Forbes, Jr., Senior Minister Emeritus, Riverside Church & President & Founder, Healing of the Nations Foundation, in association with New York's historic Carnegie Hall, present the 5th Annual Juneteenth celebration commemorating the "COMPLETE" end of slavery in America for people of color on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00 PM.  This year marks the 154th year of African American freedom (1865) and the abolishment of the stain of human bondage in America.  It also represents the dawn of a new freedom for all Americans in the United States of America.  This momentous occasion will also observe the 400th anniversary of the first African arriving in the United States in 1619. The program is taking place for the first time at the historic Carnegie Hall, a co-host of the event.

BRIC has announced full programming for the 2018 BRIC JazzFest, the fourth annual edition of the celebrated Brooklyn jazz festival, whichcontinues a yearlong celebration to cap off four decades for the pioneering NYC arts-and-media organization and leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn. The multidisciplinary festival takes place over the course of a week (October 13-20) and thrives as what the New Yorker calls a "proudly eclectic gathering [that] remains unbounded by convention." This year's edition will feature film, dance, a panel discussion, workshops, and culminates with a three-night concert marathon, with performances occurring simultaneously throughout the various spaces comprising the dynamic BRIC House (647 Fulton Street, Brooklyn). For its 40th anniversary, BRIC has commissioned rising star trumpeter Keyon Harrold to write a new piece of music which will have its world premiere at the 2018 BRIC JazzFest.

Hot Jazz and Fabulous Food Featured At Bickford Summer JazzFest

The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum presents Danny Bacher and his All-Star Band in concert on Thursday, July 12, as part of the popular Summer JazzFest. The show, "Accentuate the Positive," draws on tunes from his soon-to-be-released "Still Happy" CD as well as his exciting salute to Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan and Louis Prima from his best-selling debut CD. Danny will also premiere several new arrangements including a tribute to the great Johnny Mercer. The All-Stars will feature Harry Allen on tenor sax, Charlie Caranicas on trumpet, Allen Farnham on piano, Bill Moring on bass, and Alvester Garnett on drums. The food truck picnic begins at 5:30 and the concert at 7:30.
