According to the Real Deal, another deal is no more for a 42nd Street theatre. The 25,000-square-foot, 1,032-seat property (217 West 42nd St), has remained empty for over 25 years.

The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, today announced the nominees for the 2016?17 season at the Bessies press conference. The nominees were selected by the Bessie Awards Selection Committee, an independent committee of 38 dance industry professionals. Hudson River Park, one of the nation's longest waterfront parks and an urban oasis for New Yorkers and visitors from all over the world, will be the backdrop for a visually and culturally breathtaking dance program featuring the crème de la crème of contemporary and modern dance at the third annual Hudson River Dance Festival, taking place at Pier 63 inHudson River Park.

Parsons Dance – under the Artistic Direction of David Parsons – will kick off its 2017 season, dedicated to the life and legacy of the company's great friend and dance advocate Alexander J. Dubé,at New York City's historic Joyce Theater from May 16 – May 28.

Due to inclement weather and unsafe travel conditions The Joyce Theater (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) has cancelled this evening's (March 14) opening performance of Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart in the New York premiere of Marco Goecke's acclaimed evening-length work NIJINSKI.
