ERIC GAUTHIER (Artistic Director ) took only a few years to make it from charismatic soloist of the Stuttgart Ballet to high-profile international choreographer and director of one of Germany's most successful companies. The German Dance Prize "Future" 2011 in the category choreography for Gauthier himself as well as the German Theatre Prize THE FAUST 2011 and 2013 for Gauthier Dance mark the reputation the company of currently 16 dancers has gained since 2007. In the critics' survey 2012/13 of the German specialist magazine tanz, Eric Gauthier was twice nominated as Dancer of the Year - for the solo I Found A Fox, which Marco Goecke created for him. Recent kudos include the listing among the "Great Hopes" 2016 in the new yearbook of tanz and the prize for Best Duet at the St. Petersburg DANCE OPEN Festival 2016 for his piece Punk Love. Top companies worldwide have taken Gauthier's works into their repertoire - including the Staatsballett Berlin, the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, and Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam. Devised by Gauthier and produced by Theaterhaus Stuttgart, COLOURS International Dance Festival 2015 created a stir in the international dance world. The festival is to be continued as a biennial event. As the son of a leading Alzheimer's researcher, Eric Gauthier has acquired an awareness for social issues early on. With the Gauthier Dance Mobile, the company brings contemporary dance to youth centres, hospitals, andto elderly homes. Eric Gauthier was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg and is a member of the board of trustees of the Alzheimer's Foundation Baden-Wuerttemberg.

MARCO GOECKE (Choreographer ) serves as Resident Choreographer of the Stuttgart Ballet and Associate Choreographer of Nederlands Dans Theater in The Hague. He has emerged as one of the most sought-after choreographers worldwide - renowned for his poignant, avant-garde dance language and the audacity with which he breaks down aesthetic boundaries. In 2003, Goecke won the Prix Dom Pérignon, 2005 the Cultural Award of the Land Baden-Wuerttemberg and 2006 the Prix Nijinsky for upcoming choreographers. His Nutcracker ballet was nominated for the German Theatre Prize THE FAUST 2007. In the current dance critics' survey of the specialist magazine tanz he was voted Choreographer of the Year 2015. Over the past ten years, Marco Goecke has created more than 30 pieces including the full-length ballets Nutcracker and Orlando for the Stuttgart Ballet and world premières for, amongst others, John Neumeier's The Hamburg Ballet, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Nederlands Dans Theater, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Leipzig Ballet, and the São Paulo Dance Company. His works are also performed by companies such as the Ballet of Gärtnerplatztheater Munich or Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal.

The Joyce Theater Foundation ("The Joyce," Executive Director, Linda Shelton), a nonprofit organization, has proudly served the dance community for over three decades. Under the direction of founders Cora Cahan and Eliot Feld, Ballet Tech Foundation acquired and The Joyce renovated the Elgin Theater in Chelsea. Opening as The Joyce Theater in 1982, it was named in honor of Joyce Mertz, beloved daughter of LuEsther T. Mertz. It was LuEsther's clear, undaunted vision and abundant generosity that made it imaginable and ultimately possible to build the theater. Ownership was secured by The Joyce in 2015. The theater is one of the only theaters built by dancers for dance and has provided an intimate and elegant home for over 400 U.S.-based and international companies. The Joyce has also presented dance at Lincoln Center since 2012, and launched Joyce Unleashed in 2014 to feature emerging and experimental artists. To further support the creation of new work, The Joyce maintains longstanding commissioning and residency programs. Local students and teachers (K-12th grade) benefit from its school program, and family and adult audiences get closer to dance with access to artists. The Joyce's annual season of about 48 weeks of dance now includes over 340 performances for audiences in excess of 150,000.
