As Theatre Horizon gears up for the upcoming 2016-2017 season, the company announces its second event of the summer. New Voices, New Viewpoints will showcase some rising new voices in American Theatre. Friday, August 19 and Saturday August 20 at 8 p.m. audiences can experience scenes from these new work on the theatre's stage.

The Bushwick Starr presents the very first performance of The Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment's Off Broadway in the Boros inaugural series. For one night only, tonight, July 29th, 2016, Dave Malloy, composer/playwright of the Broadway-bound Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, brings his award-winning chamber musical GHOST QUARTET, a haunted song cycle about love, death, and whisky, to Bushwick's Maria Hernandez Park for a very special outdoor performance at sunset.

The play, which originated at the Roundabout Theatre Company last year, earned six Tony nominations, including nods for the duo (Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Featured Role in a Play). SPACE on Ryder Farm, the non-profit artist residency program located on Ryder Farm, an idyllic 200 year-old working organic farm in Brewster, New York announced its 2016 season for The Working Farm, Family Residency, Creative Solutions Symposium and Artistic Residency programs at The Players Club. In attendence were Josh Charles, David Bar Katz, Michael Urie, and Marsha Norman, as well as 2016 SPACE residents Cusi Cram, Daisy Foote, Adam Rapp, and recipients of the inaugural Relentless Award--Clare Barron and Sarah DeLappe.

Often, news breaks and it is several years before we see something on stage about it. Such is the nature of theatre making.
