As Theatre Horizon gears up for the upcoming 2016-2017 season, the company announces its second event of the summer. New Voices, New Viewpoints will showcase some rising new voices in American Theatre. Friday, August 19 and Saturday August 20 at 8 p.m. audiences can experience scenes from these new work on the theatre's stage.

New Voices, New Viewpoints is an evening of scenes from four new plays that have not yet been seen in the region. These plays represent a diversity of voices and viewpoints. Theatre Horizon is excited to give local audiences a change to see snippets of these new works and invites audiences to stay after and share their opinion with the theatre over a complimentary drink with the artists. Works include: The Who and the What by Pulitzer-winner Ayad Akhtar, The Ashes Under Gait City by Lorraine Hansberry Award-winner Christina Anderson, You Got Older by Clare Barron (Obie Award) and Wolves Eat Elk by beloved Philly playwright MJ Kaufman. These plays are not recommended for children.

"New Voices, New Viewpoints is a chance for audiences to have a say in Theatre Horizon's artistic process. The night includes stories from some of 2016's most exciting playwrights. These playwrights are disrupting--in the best way--how we think about identity in America. Based on audience feedback, we will determine whether one of these plays or playwrights should be produced in an upcoming Theatre Horizon season," said Theatre Horizon Artistic Director Erin Reilly.

Theatre Horizon brings Philadelphia's finest actors to Norristown, staging a three-show season and teaching drama to over 750 children per year. Located on Arts Hill in the heart of Montgomery County, Theatre Horizon is an award-winning company dedicated to the revitalization of Norristown.
