New York, NY (September 17, 2015), BalletCollective will present two world premieres ballets by Troy Schumacher on November 4 and 5, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center, 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square. The new works were inspired by separate series of commissioned photographs by Paul Maffi and Dafy Hagai, with commissioned scores by music director and resident composer Ellis Ludwig-Leon (San Fermin) and Mark Dancigers (NOW Ensemble).

Hartford Stage presents the world premiere of AN OPENING IN TIME by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Connecticut native Christopher Shinn, with direction by Oliver Butler of The Debate Society, from tonight, September 17, through October 11, 2015. AN OPENING IN TIME's central Connecticut setting is inspired by Shinn's hometown of Wethersfield.
Hale Centre Theatre Breaks Ground on New Theater

Hale Centre Theatre hosted a ground breaking ceremony Sept. 16, with live performances by past cast members and a 3-D video of what is to be a one-of-a-kind center stage for its new 130,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art theater to be built in Sandy City. Work is now in full force by Layton Construction, at 9900 Monroe Street, between the Sandy City offices and Interstate 15.

Our Mutual Friend, A New Musical based on Charles Dickens' final novel with music and lyrics by Larry Gelb and book adapted by Elizabeth and Larry Gelb will be performed in Staged Reading format featuring the composer at the piano, with bass (Myles Sloniker) and drums (Daniel Rabinow) at Actors' Temple Theater on Monday October 19th at 2PM and 7PM.Mark Harborth directs. The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

On September 11-12, choreographer and company director Miro Magloire kicked off the New Chamber Ballet's 2015-16 season with an intimate gathering at the City Center Studios. Magloire, a native of Munich, Germany, began his career as a composer before moving to New York to pursue dance. His work draws from his background in music and home country to present an evening of lovely and sophisticated choreography that is masterfully accompanied to live music, which is integral to the company's artistic identity. This engagement marked the first of five two-night seasons in their home base at City Center.

World Music Institute opens its spectacular 30th Anniversary Season with a four-night cross-cultural Lusophone Festival, featuring music from the Portuguese-speaking world with artists from Brazil, Portugal, Cape Verde, Angola, and Mozambique.
