Cheyenne Jackson to Return to Provincetown's Art House, 8/29-31

When Cheyenne Jackson made his debut in the Broadway @ The Art House series hosted by Seth Rudetsky last month, the Cape Cod Times called him 'a singer with tremendous style' and raved that 'his vocal range goes deep for Elvis-like tunes but can flip to a high, yowling falsetto' and 'his dance moves go from sultry to hip-swiveling rock.' On the heels of selling-out all three of his July 4th holiday weekend shows in Provincetown, he has announced a return to The Art House for Labor Day weekend of August 29, 30, 31 at 7:00 PM by popular demand. In the new film 'The Word,' a man's otherwise perfect life is destroyed when his son is kidnapped and murdered. He finds himself torn between avenging his son's death and moving on with his now hollow existence. Two-time Tony-winner James Naughton plays F.B.I. agent Mike Sheehy, who is tasked with hunting down the boy's killer. 'The Word' opens in select cities, including New York and Los Angeles, this week. Last week, I spoke to Naughton about the film, his iconic role as the original Billy Flynn in long-running 'Chicago' revival, being a part of a family of performers, and whether or not there is any truth to the rumors of a 'City of Angels' reunion concert. MTC's Stargate Theatre Company to Present WEATHERING THE STORM, 8/16

The Stargate Theatre Company, a project of Manhattan Theatre Club's Education Department will perform an original piece, Weathering the Storm, this Saturday, August 16th at 4:00PM and 7:00PM at MTC- Stage II at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Each performance will last 30 minutes and will be followed by a talkback onstage with the performer-writers. After the 7:00PM talkback, there will be a brief reception in the theatre lobby.
