6th Annual CHICAGO ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL to Highlight Works by Women

The CHICAGO ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns with a twist: the sixth annual event will celebrate the works of all women and women-identified playwrights and directors.

COSTA MESA, CA – Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes the return of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in an exclusive Southern California engagement April 6 – 10, 2016. The program includes eight works never before seen at the Center, four Southern California premieres and new productions of Ailey classics. In addition to the three full repertory programs, on April 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Center and the Company will hold their second free community event – Revelations Celebration – on the Arts Plaza, and on April 6 at 7:30 p.m., Discover Ailey, a special hour-long Ailey mini performance with all seats at just one price.

Join Rose, June and Louise in their trip across the United States during the 1920's, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. This gripping story highlights one of the most compelling and distressing aspects of show business. A classic musical with many Tony Awards to its name, Gypsy has been a Broadway favorite since it opened in 1959. With a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, songs include Let Me Entertain You, If Momma Was Married, You Gotta Get A Gimmick, Everything's Coming Up Roses and many more.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Managing Director Jeff Griffin, today announced that acclaimed actors (and married couple) Becky Ann Baker (currently featured on "Girls") and Dylan Baker (currently featured on "The Americans") have joined the cast of its upcoming production of Henrik Ibsen's PEER GYNT, directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, who becomes the company's new Artistic Director in July.

On a bright autumn night in Manchester, a woman named Harper Regan walks away from her job, her home, her husband and her daughter.  The play named after her, 'Harper Regan' by English playwright Simon Stephens, stunningly reveals life on the cusp of the working class in modern British society. The author is the 2015 TONY Award-winner for best play ('The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time').  This 2008 play is a dramatic Odyssey navigating family, love and redemption.  T. Schreiber Theatre, 151 West 26th Street, will present the piece May 4 to June 4, directed by Terry Schreiber.
