New York Musical Theater Festival Announces Sixth Season Awards Gala To Honor NY1 ON STAGE and Sh-K-Boom /Ghostlight Records Sunday, November 22nd

The New York Musical Theater Festival will honor TV's NY 1 and Sh-K-Boom at its sixth Anniversary Season Awards Gala on Sunday, November 22nd at The Supper Club (230 West 46th Street). The winners of NYMF 2009 Awards for Excellence, which will be all announced later this month, will also be honored at the gala.

BET Networks and David Rothenberg, founder of the Fortune Society, will be honored at the Fortune Society's annual awards and benefit gala on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at The Laura Pels Theater. Tony Award Winning actress Christine Ebersole and Publisher and CEO of El Diario Rossana Rosado will serve as honorary Co-Chairs for this special evening that will bring together members of New York City's philanthropic, business and civic communities.

Tony Award winner Laura Benanti is set to replace British stars Daniel Evans and Jenna Russell in an upcoming 'Spotlight' concert series at the Kennedy Center. Benanti will take over the concert, which is set to be a part of the 'Barbara Cook's Spotlight' concert series, featuring Broadway stars and curated by Barbara Cook.

The 'King of Pop' will be honored with a special musical tribute titled ‘Don't Stop Till You Get Enough' to be presented on Monday, October 19 at 7PM at Birdland in New York City. The Stella Adler Studio of Acting has announced the 60th anniversary of its founding. It is one of the oldest actor training schools in the country, founded by the legendary Stella Adler in New York City in 1949. Over the years, the Studio has trained many of the industry's preeminent artists including Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Salma Hayek and Susan Sarandon and today is nurturing the next generation of artists.

With Rob Fisher behind the podium conducting the Pacific Symphony, LuPone takes the audience for a ride through her musical theater past. As the show's title Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda suggests, the evening's selections are from musicals she either auditioned for, shows she thinks she could/should have starred in, or-as in the case of Evita-shows that made her the star she is today.
