The winners of NYMF 2009 Awards for Excellence, which were announced earlier this month, will also be honored at the gala.

In a city brimming with cultural events, ON STAGE is the only local New York cable television program dedicated to reporting all the action on, off, and off-off-Broadway. ON STAGE, a weekly half-hour theater show, began its run on cable newschannel NY1 in May 1998. Helmed by Donna Karger and Roma Torre, it features in-depth interviews with performers, writers, producers and directors, as well as reviews of Current Productions and the latest backstage scoop from contributing correspondents. It also has the distinction as the only television program in the nation to telecast live red carpet coverage of the annual Tony Awards.

Founded 10 years ago by Kurt Deutsch and Sherie Rene Scott, Sh-K-Boom and its imprint Ghostlight Records has become the leading independent force in musical theatre recording-shining a light towards its future while continuing to honor its past. The label is renowned for its efforts to encourage and support the music of the most innovative new voices on Broadway, to help bridge the gap between pop/rock and musicals, and to preserve the scores of important works. Featured amongst the label's over 75 titles are the popular cast albums of Passing Strange, Legally Blonde, The Last Five Years, Hair, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and solo albums from major Broadway artists like Patti LuPone, Sutton Foster, Kelli O'Hara, Christine Ebersole, Alice Ripley and Adam Pascal. Ghostlight/Sh-K-Boom's work has not only brought them a loyal following of fans and supporters, but has also garnered a special Drama Desk Award, multiple Grammy Award nominations and their first Grammy win in 2008 for the Original Broadway Cast Recording of In the Heights. The label is also responsible for the cast recordings of several NYMF success stories, including Next to Normal, Altar Boyz and [title of show].

The 2009 Awards Gala will feature special performances by Gavin Creel, Ann Harada, Tom Kitt, Greg Naughton, Kelli O'Hara, Alice Ripley, Sherie Rene Scott, the cast of [title of show] with special guest Jonathan Groff, and the casts of the award-winning NYMF 2009 shows. Additional presenters include Douglas Carter Beane, Chad Kimball, Richard Kind, Michael John LaChiusa, legendary Korean film star and chief chairman of the Daegu International Musical Festival Shin Sung Yill, Karen Ziemba, among others.
