An untitled HBO Entertainment documentary about the life and music of Elvis Presley from Sony Pictures Television completes production this month and will debut on the network, it was announced today by Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and CINEMAX Programming. Directed by Emmy® and Grammy winner Thom Zimny (HBO's “The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town” and “The Ties That Bind”), the three-hour, two-film presentation takes the audience on a comprehensive journey from Elvis' childhood through the final 1976 Jungle Room recording sessions.

The Smithsonian's new National Museum of African American History and Culture opened its doors with an all-star tribute on ABC Television's TAKING THE STAGE: AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC AND STORIES THAT CHANGED AMERICA a two-hour program of music, dance and the spoken word on THURSDAY, JANUARY 12 (9:00–11:00 p.m. EST).

(Interestingly, he was unaware of both the men into whose shoes he has stepped.) Its title was inspired by a fan who asked, 'What's it like to have this incredible jukebox life?'
