3000 Miles Off-Broadway presents THE KINGSTON TRIO,  on Wednesday, March 8 at 7:30pm and Thursday, March 9 at 7:30pm onstage at the historic El Portal Theatre Debbie Reynolds Mainstage, 5269 Lankershim Blvd. in the NOHO Arts District, North Hollywood, CA. 

Three groups at the center of the 1960s Folk Revival continue to delight fans with their smooth musical sounds: The Kingston Trio ('Where Have All the Flowers Gone,' 'Tom Dooley'), The Brothers Four ('Try to Remember') and The Limeliters ('Take My True Love by the Hand'). The groups perform at Mayo Performing Arts Center on Sunday, September 22 at 7 pm. Tickets are $39-$79.

The Kingston Trio began with Nick Reynolds, Bob Shane and Dave Guard in 1955, becoming one of the most influential bands in the 50s - they joined Frank Sinatra, Charlie Parker, The Beatles and others in winning the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented to the band in 2010.

"Country crooners, '80s hitmakers and man's best friend are among the headlining talent Poway OnStage have lined-up for their 2018/19 Professional Performance Series. The McCallum Theatre presents The Kingston Trio on Sunday, November 19, at 3:00pm. Josh Reynolds, son of original founding member Nick Reynolds, has joined forces with two of Nick's closest kindred spirits, Mike Marvin, Nick's nephew, and Tim Gorelangton, Mike's musical brother. Alongside Josh, Mike and Tim have re-captured that original Kingston Trio magic with their energy, humor and crowd charming musical repertoire.

The City of Rancho Mirage and the McCallum Theatre present The Kingston Trio on Sunday, November 22, at 3:00pm. In 1957, America was ready for a new style of music. Just out of college, Bob Shane, Nick Reynolds and Dave Guard took folk music and gave it an irresistible comic twist. The music was rooted in American popular culture, but performed with a style that now seems timeless. When "Tom Dooley" went Gold in 1958, the folk revival was born, setting the stage for Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Byrds and the protest movement of the 60s.

The original Kingston Trio, formed in San Francisco in 1957 by Bob Shane, Nick Reynolds and Dave Guard, changed the face of pop music, introducing a new take on classic American folk music. Their 'folk revival' sound paved the way in the 1960s for groups such as the Limelighters, the Smothers Brothers and the Brothers Four, eventually inspiring the protest folk music of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and Peter, Paul and Mary. In their heyday, the Trio's albums and concert performances were out-sold only by the Beatles, and their sound influenced the musical tastes of a generation.
