Winner of four 2008 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and Best Score, In the Heights, Lin-Manuel Miranda's debut Broadway musical with a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes, tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood-a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams, and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you and which ones you leave behind.

Anthony Ramos, who originated the roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton, will play Usnavi in the Broadway Center Stage production of In the Heights at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Joshua Grosso, previously announced in the role, has withdrawn from the musical due to a minor foot injury. Presented as a part of the inaugural season of Broadway Center Stage, a Kennedy Center-produced series of musicals in semi-staged concerts, In the Heights will run March 21-25, 2018 in the Eisenhower Theater.

Flags of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Mexico adorn the balconies and railings of the barrio in Lin-Manuel Miranda's 2008 musical In The Heights. The show, which won the Tony that year for Best Musical, brings a Hispanic flair to the Benedum stage through the accents, language, and styles of dances, uncommonly seen by a Pittsburgh audience as part of the Pittsburgh CLO's 2017 summer season.

These are the questions at the center of The New York Musical Festival's Developmental Reading of BREAD AND ROSES, a new musical with book and lyrics by Jill Abramovitz music by Brad Alexander, and direction by Melissa Crespo,inspired by true events and based on the film by Paul Laverty and Ken Loach.

BEDLAM's world premiere of NEW YORK ANIMALS, a new play by two-time Tony Award winner Steven Sater (Spring Awakening) with songs by six-time Grammy Award winner and three-time Academy Award winner Burt Bacharach and Steven Sater, directed by Eric Tucker, plays a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, December 20, 2015, at New Ohio Theater (154 Christopher Street). Broadway and NYC performing artists once again will donate their time and talents as teaching artists at the 8th Annual Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp, hosted by R.Evolucion Latina (RL).

Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia. Viva Broadway, an initiative of the Broadway League, in collaboration with 5000 Broadway Productions and the United Palace of Cultural Arts presents In The Heights: In Concert, a special, one-night only benefit concert at the United Palace of Cultural Arts in Washington Heights tonight, February 11th at 8pm.

Joining composer-lyricist and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda on stage will be original Broadway cast members Christopher Jackson, Karen Olivo, Olga Merediz, Robin De Jesus, Mandy Gonzalez, Andrea Burns, Seth Stewart, Janet Dacal, and Eliseo Roman. Rick Negron and Natalie Toro, from the In The Heights Broadway run and 1st National Tour respectively, will be filling out the principal roles. See the cast singing selections from the show below!
