Northlight Theatre has announced an extension to the run of Songs for Nobodies, written by Joanna Murray-Smith, directed by Rob Lindley, with music direction by Andra Velis Simon, and featuring Bethany Thomas. Due to strong early ticket sales, Songs for Nobodies, originally slated for May 7 a?" June 14, 2020 will now run through June 21, 2020 at Northlight Theatre.

New Slate Ventures Acquires Rights to Book DEN OF THIEVES

NSV announced today they have optioned the rights to Den of Thieves, the 1992 non-fiction book written by Pulitzer Prize winner, James B. Stewart. Oscar-nominated screenwriter Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Sopranos) will write the teleplay for the limited series, which tells the story of the massive insider trading scandal that brought down Drexel Burnham Lambert as well as ending the careers of Wall Street heavyweights Ivan Boesky and Michael Milken, who recently received a full pardon by President Trump. The series will be produced by Jordan Fudge under his NSV banner and Alexandra Milchan under her EMJAG Productions banner.

New Repertory Theatre will present Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. This biographical play with music by Lanie Robertson tells the incredible story of an icon who consistently battled racism, abuse, and addiction for her chance to sing. The production runs March 28 through April 19, 2020 in the MainStage Theater at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA. Tickets start at $25 and may be purchased by calling the New Rep Box Office at 617-923-8487 or visiting newrep.org. Student, senior, and group discounts are available, as well as free tickets for WIC/EBT cardholders.

What started out as a 17 minute tap session full of some pretty slick moves became a nearly two hour romp backed by one of the world's classiest jam bands highlighted by Jonathan Michel, probably the world's best double bassist and talented pianist, accompanist Mark Meadows who defined sleek with the keys.
