DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2017 Festival ENCORE! The one-night-only performance will feature the 12 choreographers/companies selected by the DANCE NOW producers for having most successfully met the 2017 DANCE NOW Challenge: to create a clear and complete artistic statement in five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joe's Pub.

HERE begins its 2017-2018 producing season with Stairway to Stardom, a world premiere Resident Artist production by Amanda Szeglowski / cakeface, commencing the 25th Anniversary of this award-winning, boundary-stretching institution. Stairway to Stardom, developed through the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP), will have 10 performances tonight, September 12, through September 23 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street), launching this milestone season.

Producers announced today the first North American tour and full casting of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE. Performances will begin October 7, 2017 in Schenectady, New York at Proctors and the tour will have its official opening October 17, 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland at The Hippodrome Theatre. HERE proudly announces its 2017-2018 producing season, marking the 25th Anniversary of this award-winning, boundary-stretching institution.  The 2017-2018 HERE lineup features three HERE Resident Artist world premieres; the world premiere of a HERE Artistic Director production by Kristin Marting; innovative works from the Dream Music Puppetry Program including a revival of Symphonie Fantastique by Basil Twist, internationally acclaimed artist and Artistic Director of HERE's Dream Music Puppetry Program; the sixth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, where HERE serves up a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).  The multidisciplinary productions in HERE's milestone 2017-2018 season represent the culmination of commissions and developmental residencies of up to three years in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) and/or the Dream Music Puppetry Program.  

Tuesday, August 8, 2017) Tickets are now on sale for the first production of WP Theater's 40th Anniversary Season, the world premiere of One Night Only (running as long as we can) by Monica Bill Barnes & Company (The Museum Workout; Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host with Ira Glass), produced in association with New Neighborhood. The show begins performances at WP Theater (2162 Broadway) on Saturday, September 9 with opening night set for Tuesday, September 19.

The 23rd edition of the fundraising and cultural event of the Fire Island summer raised a record $585,045 for Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

DANCE NOW is pleased to announce the lineup for the 2017 DANCE NOW Festival. Acclaimed for its adventurous short-takes format, the annual DANCE NOW Festival presents an eclectic array of works by some of today's most exciting dance makers. The 22nd season of this exuberant showcase will feature 40 emerging and established choreographers side by side, including DANCE NOW veterans and festival newcomers. The 2017 festival will take place Wednesday to Saturday, September 6-9, at 7pm, at Joe's Pub at The Public. A special encore performance will be presented on Thursday, September 28, at 7pm.
