Broadway Unplugged, the critically acclaimed concert with 'Sound Design by God' returned to Town Hall for its record-breaking 14th season last night, July 25. The concert starred Tony Award Winner Chuck Cooper, 2X Tony Nominee Tom Wopat, Olivier Nominee Kyle Scatliffe, 2X Drama Desk Nominee Alix Korey, Drama Desk Nominee Ryan Silverman, downtown diva Molly Pope, and many more award-winning stars.

On July 21st, the students of Broadway Artists Alliance of NYC were tearfully overjoyed by a surprise visit from Hamilton star Renee Elise Goldsberry. Recently winning a Tony Award and Grammy for her role as Angelica Schuyler, Goldsberry spoke about the incredible journey that Hamilton has taken from workshopping a concept, to performing at The Public and moving to the Richard Rodgers Theatre, to earning 16 Tony nominations and winning a Pulitzer Prize. The evening will feature an array of proud North Carolinians on a mission to celebrate tolerance and acceptance to prove that #WeAreNotThis.

Opera North Announces TOSCA Cast, Creative Team

Opera North has announced the principal roles for Tosca, one of its three 2016 mainstage productions. Soprano Sandra Lopez will play the title role of Tosca, while baritones Jeff Gwaltney and Aleksey Bogdanov will play Cavaradossi and Scarpia, respectively. All three are Opera North alumni and have extensive international experience.

Hard to believe, but it's been four years since we sat down with Jeremy Benton, whom we've since referred to as Broadway's Best Tap Dancer every chance we've had, and now it seems as that title has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Just yesterday, Benton - a native of Springfield, Tennessee - was honored with a nomination for a Fred and Adele Astaire Award in the category for best off-Broadway male dancer, heralding his critically acclaimed role in Cagney, the Musical.
