Marti Gould Cummings to Appear at Therapy, Feinstein's/54 Below, and More This Holiday Season

Showman Marti Gould Cummings, known for his inventive blend of drag, comedy and vocal performance, will be making numerous appearances throughout Manhattan for the remainder of the year. Off the heels of his London debut, Marti will resume his weekly Monday evening appearances at midtown's Therapy, welcoming to the stage Broadway star Peter Gallagher and his Broadway songstress daughter on November 28. On December 7, Marti will help to honor George Takei as host to the Emery Award after party on December 7, and attend the 18th Annual Glam Awardson December 11, as a nominee in six categories. Lastly, the year will close with Have Yourself a Very Marti Christmas, Cummings's encore performance at 54 Below, featuring guest artists Lesli Margherita and Matt DeAngelis.

Tony Award-winner Beth Leavel launched the Broadway Series at The Black Box at the Franklin Performing Arts Company in a boffo one-night-only concert, accompanied on piano by Musical Director Phil Reno. The star was joined onstage by five young FPAC vocalists who portend a bright future for musical theatre.

The event will benefit The Harbor Lights Theater Company. On Friday, August 5th, the students of Broadway Artists Alliance received a visit from Tony Award winner, Jessie Mueller. She charmed them from the first moment when she sat down for her interview and rescued an eyelash from Artistic Director Jennifer Johns' cheek so that she could make a wish. New Musical TAKE ONE to Premiere at New York Fringe

Producer Tim Hurley will present the world premiere of the new musical TAKE ONE by Jeff Ward, directed by Michael Schiralli with musical direction by Nathan W. Perry. TAKE ONE will begins performances on Sunday, August 21and run through Saturday August 27 at Flamboyan Theatre at the Clemente (107 Suffolk Street, NYC). As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, star of stage and screen Fyvush Finkel just passed away at 93 years of age.
Fyvush Finkel began his career over 80 years ago playing the numerous Jewish theatres along Second Avenue. When he was 43 he began touring in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF playing the Innkeeper, then the Butcher and eventually Tevye.
