Ephraim Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival are partnering to present this weekend the Florida premiere of THE BEN HECHT SHOW, a one-man theatrical production about the fascinating life of the Chicago newspaperman turned legendary playwright (The Front Page) and screenwriter (Stagecoach, Notorious, Scarface, Twentieth Century).

Daring, desperate and damn funny - a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of Gone With The Wind, and some of the problems encountered, form the basis of Limelight Theatre's first production of 2017.

Hollywood 1932- Prohibition will soon be going out but the Will Hays production code is coming in to watch over Hollywood movies for content not suitable for the American Public.During this time Billionaire Howard Hughes is producing a movie called SCARFACE about a fictional gangster with that name and has hired famed writer Ben Hecht to write the screenplay.  What would happen if a certain real gangster of that time gets wind of the project and sends some 'associates' of his to visit Hecht and see how close the story is to the real SCARFACE's life. A VISIT FROM SCARFACE takes that idea and brings real and fictional characters to a Hollywood Hotel suite one afternoon to see what might have happen on a typical madcap day in Hollywood.

Producer Scott Rudin announced today that The Front Page recouped its entire $4.875 million capitalization during the week ending Sunday, January 1, making official the show's much discussed smash-hit status.

Newnan Theatre Company kicks off its 39th season with the comedy Moonlight and Magnolias by Ron Hutchinson. Directed by Jeff Allen, this show is a very funny look at the real-life events surrounding the writing of the screenplay to the film classic Gone With the Wind. It opens Sept. 1 and runs through Sept. 11. It will be presented on the Mainstage.

Directed by Stephanie A. Coltrin, this production features the same principal cast members from her critically acclaimed staging of Moonlight and Magnolias at Hermosa Beach Playhouse in 2010. Just in time for the 80th anniversary of Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, 'Gone With the Wind,' Rubicon brings this wildly funny, behind-the-scenes farce to Ventura on Saturday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. with an after party to follow atThe Greek Mediterranean Steak & Seafood. Previews are August 31, Sept. 1 and 2. The show runs through September 18.

? Due to popular demand, Grippo Stage Company's hit world premiere THE BEN HECHT SHOW will add four additional weeks of performances, extending through August 14, 2016 at the Piven Theatre at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St. in Evanston.

The multiple Award-winning On the Twentieth Century, the Cy Coleman-Betty Comden-Adolph Green musical will be performed in a Staged Concert Version, directed and choreographed by Hal Simons.
