Bay Street Theatre will include special screening of STORMY WEATHER, LADY SINGS THE BLUES and MAHOGANY in their HarborFrost and Valentine's Day Weekend celebrations. The weekend activities will also include THE JAM SESSION, LEGENDS: MOTOWN and a dance with a DJ.

Bay Street Theatre continues THE JAM SESSION free concerts every Thursday in February and March from 7-9 pm. Please note there is no concert on Thursday, January 27. THE JAM SESSION plays in the Bay Street Theatre lobby.

Bay Street Theatre announces a special film and dance event on Saturday, February 12 at 8 pm. See Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams in the romantic film MAHOGANY followed by a dance with a DJ just in time for a special night on Valentines Day Weekend. The Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre continues to celebrate its successful 21st season with two cabaret shows in February that highlight the voices of the award-winning singer/actress Katie Thompson (Signature's Giant) and the acclaimed Scottish performer Euan Morton (Broadway's Taboo; Signature's Chess). The performance dates for Mr. Morton - who has been called 'sensational' by The New York Times - are February 10th and 11th, followed by Ms. Thompson and her 'shiveringly good' voice (The Washington Times), from February 22nd through the 26th.

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre has announced the artistic team behind the upcoming world premiere of the musical comedy And the Curtain Rises (formerly known as Wheatley's Folly), which begins performances on Thursday, March 17, 2011. And the Curtain Rises marks the third production presented as part of Signature's groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project, the largest commissioning program for new musicals in the country, following Michael John LaChiusa's Giant in 2009 and Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees last year.

Bay Street Theatre is looking for donated housing for the 2011 Mainstage Season for summer staff, interns, technical support and actors for various lengths of stay. Housing needs exist from May - September for weekend, weeklong and monthly time periods.

Conceived Susan Rose and Joan Stein and helmed by acclaimed director Lisa Peterson, this hilarious night of theater includes works by Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley, Pulitzer Prize nominee Lisa Loomer, two-time Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award finalist Michele Lowe, Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck, best-selling author Luanne Rice, as well as Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica, Lameece Isaaq, Marco Pennette, Lisa Ramirez, Annie Weisman and Cheryl L.
