The story of Cinderella has been presented in many forms throughout the history of entertainment.  Each has enchanted audiences of all ages. There was the classic Disney cartoon, the Rodgers and Hammerstein television adaptation that has since become a stage musical, a few television remakes, and the famed London pantomimes. No matter which version of the story you've seen, there is something about a common girl's quest for true love that gets us every time.

Monumental Theatre Company Announces Black Girl Magic Concert

Monumental Theatre Company will present 'Black Girl Magic,' a fundraising concert for their upcoming season, on November 27, 2018. The concert will feature local Black artists Jade Jones (Mrs. Lovett in Rep Stage's Sweeney Todd), Awa Sal Secka (Simon Zealotes in Signature Theatre's Jesus Christ Superstar) and Ines Nassara (Dorothy in Ford's Theatre's The Wiz). The women will be performing popular songs and standards, as well as audience favorites from hit musicals. The concert will be music directed by Chris Urquiaga, a singer songwriter whose album "I'm Here" is currently available on all platforms.

DC Showcases Best Musical Theatre Talent In A One-Night Cabaret

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will host an ultra-swanky cabaret fundraiser on October 22nd at 7pm in Glen Echo Park, to help continue its mission of providing exceptional theatrical experiences to its students and audiences. With the style of a speakeasy soiree, Washington, DC musical theatre stars Bobby Smith, Awa Sal Secka, Kevin McCallister, Karen Vincent, and ATMTC's own Pre-Professional Company will perform selections from their repertoire for area families who will enjoy an evening complete with a licorice lounge and coffee/dessert bar.
