From political correctness to character assassination, bad behavior has never been so good (or hilarious) as in Arizona Theatre Company's God of Carnage, winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play. Written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton this production makes its Southwest premiere in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art and runs from October 22 - November 12, 2011. It continues its run in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from November 17 - December 4, 2011. God of Carnage is sponsored in part by Shirley Estes. The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training begins the 2011-2012 Season with Oni Faida Lampley's Tough Titty, directed by Benny Sato Ambush, and performed by the Institute Class of 2012. The production runs October 2, 21, 22, and 27 at 7:30pm at the A.R.T.'s Zero Church Street Performance Space, corner of Church Street and Mass. Ave, Harvard Square, Cambridge.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage Shakespeare's beguiling comic masterpiece, 'Twelfth Night, or What You Will,' directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, playing October 11 through November 5. Laughter and melancholy, gorgeous poetry and song, and endlessly delightful romantic entanglements abound in this fresh and inventive production of a timeless classic. It is the fifth of five productions in the historic theater's 80th year.

Labyrinth Theater Company has announced final casting for the World Premiere Production of The Atmosphere of Memory by David Bar Katz. Performances begin Saturday, October 15th with Opening Night scheduled for October 30th at Labyrinth's new home, the Bank Street Theater for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 13th.

Arizona Theatre Company Appoints Mark Cole as New Managing Director

Arizona Theatre Company announced today that the Board of Trustees has appointed Mark Cole as the new Managing Director. Cole was formerly the General Manager of Miami City Ballet which performs in four cities in South Florida. A veteran of both the theatre and ballet world, he will begin full time duties on August 15, 2011. He succeeds Interim Managing Director Jessica L. Andrews, who has been filling the position since former Managing Director Kevin Moore left in October 2010 after 10 years with ATC.
