Milwaukee Repertory Theatre's 2015/16 season comes to a close with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play FENCES. The production, which is a co-production with Arizona Theatre Company and Indiana Repertory Theatre, is helmed by legendary American theater director Lou Bellamy and features an all-star cast. FENCES plays in the Quadracci Powerhouse from tonight, April 26, through May 22, with Opening Night on Friday, April 29. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below! (more...)

Teatro Vista announces the Chicago premiere of In the Time of the Butterflies, written by Lifetime Achievement Obie Award Winner Caridad Svich, based on Julia Álvarez's acclaimed novel, and directed by Ricardo Gutierrez, playing in the Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln, April 16 - May 22. Opening night is Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. Preview performances run from Thursday, April 16 through Thursday, April 21. Regular performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 for previews, $25 for Thursdays and Fridays, and $30 for Saturday and Sunday performances. John Steinbeck's classic Of Mice and Men, a co-production with Milwaukee Repertory Theater and winner of the NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, continues the Arizona Theatre Company 2015-2016 season. It tells the emotional story of two migrant ranch workers, George (Jonathan Wainwright) and Lennie (Scott Greer), both of whom are trying to achieve their dream of settling down on their own farm, living off the fat of the land, and tending to the softest of rabbits. George Street Playhouse today announced the cast of Aaron Posner's MY NAME IS ASHER LEV, which runs April 12 through May 1 at the New Brunswick theatre. Miles G. Jackson (4000 Miles) will portray the titular Jewish artist Asher Lev, who must be a painter despite his faith and the will of his family. Bob Ari (Frost/Nixon, GSP's Red) and Lena Kaminsky (Law & Order, GSP's The Pillowman) both return to George Street to round out the cast.  MY NAME IS ASHER LEV will be directed by George Street Playhouse Director of Education and Outreach, Jim Jack.
