Heather Headley will take her final bow as Shug Avery in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of The Color Purple this evening. Headley joined the company on May 10th after taking over the role from Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Holliday will assume the role beginning October 4th.

Just yesterday, The Color Purple's Tony Award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo was joined by some of her Broadway friends as Sardi's unveiled her caricature, which joins the historic collection on the restaurant's walls, honoring Broadway's finest for over 85 years.

On 5 July, the National Arts Festival's Arena Programme will host the world premiere of AS EVER, BESSIE - a poignant story that has been left untold, until now. Written and directed by Bobbie Fitchen, the play will have two special preview performances at the Galloway Theatre prior to its bow at the festival.
