PHONE BONE: The True Story of My Life as a Phone Sex Operator to make premiers at The Tank Theater's Storytelling 2.0 Festival. By writer and storyteller, Athalie Paynting, opens October 8th at 7pm.

On November 6, 2015, the Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues our 2015-2016 Season with the first Northern California production of LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, a new musical based on the play by William Shakespeare, with songs by Michael Friedman, and book adapted by Alex Timbers.

Due to tropical storm Joachim, En Garde Arts has postponed BOSSS, its new site-specific outdoor performance festival featuring new works by some of the New York City's most promising emerging theatre artists, to October 23-25 throughout Hudson River Park. The opening night party at The Frying Pan will now take place on October 23 at 7pm.

Producers Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman and The Transfer Group have announced that CARRIE THE MUSICAL will return to Los Angeles at the historic Los Angeles Theatre, the first theatrical musical at that venue. CARRIE THE MUSICAL begins previews on October 1, 2015 and officially opens on October 8, 2015.

A memorial tribute will be held for Roger Rees, the legendary Tony Award-winning actor, and Tony Award nominated director, today, September 21 at 1:00 PM at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 W 42nd Street, NYC). 

MasterVoices kicks off the 2015-2016 season with The Pirates of Penzance; or, The Slave of Dutyon October 15-16, 2015 at 8pm at New York City Center, 131 W. 55th Street, New York City. Crashbox Theater Company will present the World Premiere of KITCHEN SINK EXPERIMENT(S) by Colby Day. Director Andrew J. Scoville will stage the production in an authentic Brooklyn apartment with a limited audience of 20 per performance.  Previews begin October 16 with opening night slated for Wednesday, October 21 at Brian & Simone's Apartment.

The Drama League, embarking on a landmark year of celebration commemorating its 100 years of service to the American theater, will honor Golden Globe and three-time Tony Award winner and musical theater icon Bernadette Peters as their Centennial Honoree.  The Drama League Centennial Gala is set for Monday evening, November 2, 2015 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) in New York City.

Austin Film Festival (AFF), the premier film festival recognizing writers' and filmmakers' contributions to film, television, and new media, announced today new programming for the 2015 Screenwriters Conference, held the first four days of the Festival this October 29-November 5.

La Jolla Playhouse opened its world premiere of UP HERE, a new musical comedy featuring book, music and lyrics by the husband-and-wife composing team of Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), recipients of the 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song for their hit song, 'Let It Go,' from the Disney animated film Frozen. UP HERE is directed by Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Broadway's Rocky, Off-Broadway's Here Lies Love, Playhouse's Peter and the Starcatcher) and runs now through September 6 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.
