Crashbox Theater Companys' KITCHEN SINK EXPERIMENT(S) Begins Performances Next Month

Crashbox Theater Company will present the World Premiere of KITCHEN SINK EXPERIMENT(S) by Colby Day. Director Andrew J. Scoville will stage the production in an authentic Brooklyn apartment with a limited audience of 20 per performance. Previews begin October 16 with opening night slated for Wednesday, October 21 at Brian & Simone's Apartment.

In KITCHEN SINK EXPERIMENT(S), Brian and Simone are in need of some extra cash. So the couple invites a Scientist into their home to observe their every move, not knowing how much they will learn about themselves and their relationship.

The production stars Elizabeth Alderfer (Debutante. at Ars Nova), Rachel Lin (Mary-Kate Olsen is in Love at The Flea), and Matthew K. Davis (Crashbox's The Liddy Plays) with a production team that includes Joel Soren (Production Designer) and Alannah O'Hagan (Stage Manager).

Colby Day is a Brooklyn-based playwright and filmmaker. His plays have been developed and produced by Crashbox Theater Company, Pipeline Theatre Company, UglyRhino, Theater for the New City, and The Tank. He participated in Pipeline's PlayLab in 2014 and 2015 and has been a writer in residence with TRE & The In-Between People.

Andrew J. Scoville is a Brooklyn based theater director focusing on developing new work that merges science and performance. He most recently directed Molly Murphy & Neil deGrasse Tyson On Our Last Day On Earth at ANT Fest this past summer. He is co-creator of a podcast called 'People Doing Math' which presents music, drama and conversations inspired by mathematical concepts. He is the director of Love Machine, a high-tech, interactive performance in three parts utilizing actor and audience responsive technology. He worked as Associate Director for Alex Timbers on David Byrne's Here Lies Love for both NYC and UK Productions.

Crashbox Theater Company, under Artistic Director Meridith Jones and Managing Director Brittany Crowell, is now in its fifth season. It was founded in 2010 with a mission to examine the beautiful human struggle through all its awkward fragments. Past productions include the premiere of The Liddy Plays by Brooke Berman and The Last Hat & Saint Matilde's Malady by Kyle John Schmidt, as well as revivals of Anne Washburn's Apparition, Craig Wrights' Orange Flower Water and Brooke Berman's Hunting and Gathering. They have presented work at venues including Atlantic Stage 2, Access Theater, Paradise Factory and Theatre Row.

KITCHEN SINK EXPERIMENT(S) runs October 16 - November 6, daily (except Mondays or Halloween) at 8pm, and Oct. 17 & 24 at 2pm.
